Financial Planning Manager/Specialist

The Financial Planning Manager/Specialist will assist financial advisor(s) in working with clients to help them achieve their financial goals. As the Financial Planning Specialist, you will be instrumental in creating and delivering a unique client experience that defines and differentiates the practice. This position will consistently follow high standards of business and professional ethics and legal and regulatory requirements when dealing with others and/or performing work activities.
This role provides client relationship support through managing, gathering and analyzing client data, helping prepare financial plans and other client deliverables, working with clients to resolve issues and other practice management tasks as needed. Responds to ad hoc requests, coordinates/tracks projects and/or manages small business as usual projects such as organizing a client seminar.


Responsibilities and Time Allocation - Will change over time to meet the needs of the practice and can include other duties as assigned by the leadership team.
  • Add to and track client progress through the planning process on the New Client Implementation Tracker
  • Enter data into planning software
  • Contact new client to collect data
  • Prepare planning reports for meeting with advisor
  • Close plan when plan agreement is signed and fee is collected
  • Existing planning clients (about 425 per year)
  • Track fees paid, plans due and plans closed on the Plan Production Schedule
  • Manage relationship with PracticeSource - Company that inputs data for financial plans
  • Send monthly list of plans PracticeSource will be completing
  • Send PracticeSource data to do plans (snapshot, tax return, withdrawal history, and any data that has been collected since previous plan was closed)
  • Review their drafts and finals for errors, answer questions, return those with errors for revision
  • Prepare and update financial planning reports for client meetings with advisor
  • Scan and file data and notes collected in the meeting
  • Prepare snapshot and Foundational Plan for client meetings with advisor

Required Qualifications

Required Qualifications:
  • Licensed: Series 7, 66, and state life, accident and health insurance licenses
  • Experience with planning software packages Money Guide Pro and Naviplan
  • Bachelor's degree from accredited university
  • 5+ years of experience in the financial services industry
  • Clean U4 & Finra
  • CFP/CPA preferred
  • Strong skillset with financial planning and insurance is preferred
