The Role: Senior Product Manager, Product Operations

The Impact: As the Senior Product Manager, Product Operations, you will enable the Platts Product Management organization to drive strategic and operational product initiatives to accelerate Platts' growth, performance and market position as a leading provider of energy and commodities information. As a leader of the Product Operations team, you will be a champion of creating standards for product processes and frameworks, KPIs, and educational programs, all in an effort to build a best in class product management organization. The ideal candidate for this role is someone who enjoys the traditional aspects of product management, while diversifying into other operational areas of a product management organization to define best practices and repeatable processes.

Compensation/Benefits Information (US Applicants Only):
S&P Global states that the anticipated base salary range for this position is $67,600 to $190,100. Base salary ranges may vary by geographic location.

In addition to base compensation, this role is eligible for an annual incentive bonus.

  • Develop, document and oversee execution of frameworks, processes and best practices across the Product Management team in order to drive consistency and standards (Strategic planning, Go to Market, Client interactions, Competitive landscape, Win-Loss calls, etc)
  • Manage prioritization and oversees the execution of back-end product changes across multiple product managers roadmaps and liaise with the operational teams responsible for implementation
  • Acquire a deep understanding for the product packaging and pricing models, product code structure, and the systems and processes that house product information (Product portal, pricing calculators, SFDC, Zuora, etc), and contributes to the documentation and governance of these
  • Document product management change processes end-to-end (non-technical), building a repository of repeatable standards and tools for Product Managers and cross-functional stakeholders
  • Develop and "launch" new processes, standards and frameworks across the Product Organization
  • Develop a standard set of KPIs for Product management, products, and processes; and supplies data-driven insights to CPO and Leadership team.
  • Establish SLAs, reporting capabilities, and a regular cadence for ongoing measurement and success.
  • Problem solve, give guidance, and make decisions together with operational support teams based on business needs and requirements Management team and expanding to cross-functional teams as needed
  • Support relevant internal and external communications to the product management team and customers upon each release cycle (product team communication / announcements / reinforcing process, policies, and practices)
  • Foster effective onboarding and ongoing education programs across the Product Management team building a best in class Product Management organization
  • Build, manage and coach a small team to support the ongoing evolution of Platts Product Operations
  • Manage special ad hoc projects that are cross-commodity and operational in nature to support the Platts organization
What We're Looking For:
Basic Qualifications:
  • 5 - 8 years experience of product and/or project management, ideally within a technology, data, or financial services company.
  • Experience in process mapping, documenting standard operating procedures, and checklists/tools
  • Exceptional project management & organization skills. Ability to engage in the details and solve problems creatively
  • An experienced manager that can act as a player-coach and who has managed at least a 3 people team. Management experience of offshore based employees a plus.
  • Significant experience working with product organization; you understand common product lingo, product development cycles, and can bridge knowledge gaps between technical and non-technical teams.
  • Agile development skills, experience as a Product Owner (PO) writing user stories, managing a backlog
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to break down complex or detailed topics so that anyone can understand them, regardless of the audience
  • Proven ability to build senior-level relationships, to lead cross-functional teams, and to influence decision-making
  • Preferably background and expertise with business operations, systems and technology; CRM, or billing systems (e.g. Salesforce, Oracle, Zuora), APIs.
  • Proactive nature and are always seeking to move projects forward
  • Thrive in a matrixed and cross-functional environment and leading global teams
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment; manage multiple priorities/projects at once
  • Bachelor's degree, quantitative or business discipline preferred
