The Location: Houston

The Team: As a member of the S&P Global Platts Product Management team, you will play a substantial role in building and maintaining a digital, customer-centric portfolio of commodity information offerings for the global Petrochemical markets. This includes the development of digital product offerings delivered across the Platts Platform, mobile and data feeds which bring tangible value to our customers. In this role you will work with different business functions such as sales, editorial, analytics, technology and marketing to develop and execute a customer-centric roadmap that solve problems for customers.

The Impact:
  • Manage product solutions for Petrochemicals, with a focus on the Americas region.
  • Manage the full lifecycle of product development from understanding customer needs, to project management and Agile development, through to go-to-market and driving customer adoption.

Responsibilities: You are responsible for developing and executing on product strategies, ultimately driving revenue by meeting the needs of current clients, displacing competitors, penetrating new markets, solving new problems, or selling to new client bases.

Strategic responsibilities:
  • Interact with existing clients and market participants to solicit product feedback, determine industry trends/pain points and create product roadmaps to ensure client and market needs for Petrochemical content and tools are met
  • Drive internal and external product roadmaps, present future enhancements to senior management and advocate for resources
  • Contribute to the overall Petrochemical strategic plan
Working responsibilities:
  • Define success metrics and use data to drive decision-making and present both financial and technical points of view to c-suite
  • Write effective user stories and act as Project and Product Owner when required to provide the business vision and direction to Agile development teams
  • Create, maintain and prioritise product backlog according to business value and/or ROI
  • Transition and evolve existing portfolio from legacy delivery mechanism into our single technology platform as well as other delivery mechanisms such as data feeds
  • Develop and execute on Go To Market plans for product rollout/launches
  • Engage with customers and analyse customer feedback and product usage in order to feedback implications to overall product roadmap
  • Work closely with all stakeholders and commercial organisation to identify opportunities
What we're looking for: Being held accountable for execution, tangible deliverables and measurable success are common in your past. You are able to demonstrate experience of successful delivery on scope, in time, and on budget.

Basic Qualifications:
  • You will probably have 5-8 years of product management experience preferably at a commodity information, energy, chemical or financial technology company, or a related business such as a commodity exchange
  • Exposure to commodity markets is important. Knowledge of petrochemicals is an advantage.
  • Experience of analytical content and tools is a bonus
  • Understanding of technology, languages and applications
  • Experience of working with Agile scrum teams as the Product Owner is an advantage
  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely
  • Occasional in-region and international travel required

Compensation/Benefits Information (US Applicants Only):
S&P Global states that the anticipated base salary range for this position is $55,900 to $116,100. Base salary ranges may vary by geographic location.
In addition to base compensation, this role is eligible for an annual incentive plan.
