Responsible for oversight of fund level accounting and reporting activities for certain Lionstone investment funds in addition to managing various cross departmental reporting coordination across the overall Lionstone portfolios.
Responsibilities - Review deliverables and accounting entries prepared by Staff/Sr Staff Accountants (including bank reconciliations, capital calls/distributions, investor and consultant reporting)
- Responsible for overall coaching and development of fund accounting staff, including implementation of ongoing training program
- Oversight of the maintenance of general ledger, accounts payable, cash management and budgeting for certain portfolios and underlying assets. Assist in the identification and implementation of new accounting methods applied to portfolios and underlying asset in accordance with GAAP or other prescribed reporting standards
- Lead communication and coordination with other departments regarding accounting, reporting, cash management and fund level capital
- activity
- Oversight of the quarterly close and preparation of quarterly investor reportings including working with asset managers, portfolio managers, and investments team to ensure adherence with required reporting deadlines
- Oversee and/or perform accounting and reporting functions with respect to transactional activity (acquisitions, dispositions etc). Preparation of journal entries related significant and complex accounting transactions
- Oversight of Fund level internal controls and fund and asset level accounting processes. Protect organization's value by maintaining confidentiality of information
- Coordination and oversight of third-party tax consultant on transactional activity and annual tax filings
- Oversight and communication with third-party fund administration agent
- Primary contact for the coordination of external audits and review of audit schedules and financial statements
- System guidance to property management personnel related to accounting & reporting matters
Required Qualifications - Bachelors degree or equivalent
- 5 to 7 years of experience
- CPA, CFA or equivalent designation
- Public accounting, private equity, or real estate accounting experience
Preferred Qualifications - Masters degree or equivalent
- Finance or accounting degree focus
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, internal and external professional communications
