The Role: Associate Director, Technical Product Management

The Team: Upstream solutions team manages a portfolio of data and software products for Land, Subsurface, Well, and Production personas for traditional oil and gas and decarbonization workflows. Our mission revolves around supporting and empowering one another dedicated to serving our clients and stakeholders effectively. As we navigate the energy sector, we consistently seek out and apply the most recent advancements in geoscience, engineering, visualization, and AI/ML. The Impact: This position provides the opportunity to play a highly strategic role within S&P Global Commodity Insights, helping to shape and execute the business plans for some of the fastest growing markets.

Responsibilities
  • Technical Product Vision & Strategy: Shape and guide the technical vision, ensuring alignment with company goals and cutting-edge technologies.
  • Pivotal Technical Projects Leadership: Oversee key technical projects, platform development, Legacy applications migration to SaaS, ensuring excellence and timely delivery.
  • Prototyping & Validation: Develop functional prototypes for quick iteration and validation, bridging product management and software development.
  • Financial Analysis & Business Strategy: Guide strategic decisions with financial analyses, market trend evaluations, and revenue growth forecasting.
  • Stakeholder Communication: Manage relationships with key partners and s erve as a bridge between software engineering and product management, simplifying technical language for diverse audiences.
  • Technical Risk Management: Identify and mitigate technical risks in product development, ensuring technological feasibility.
  • Develop and Manage Communities of Practice: Establish and nurture communities of practice, fostering a culture of knowledge sharing, collaboration, and continuous learning within the organization.
What We're Looking For:

Education: Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or a related field.

Experience: At least 7+ years of professional experience, demonstrating successful leadership in large-scale IT projects and transformations.

Technical Skills:
  • Proficiency in React, Python, AI, ML; knowledge of cloud services (AWS, Azure) and cybersecurity principles.
  • Strong capability in conducting financial analyses (NPV, build vs. buy) and developing business strategies.
  • Familiarity with current technology trends, especially in AI, cloud solutions, and software development methodologies.
  • Proficiency in software development, familiarity with automation tools, and understanding of low-code/no-code platforms
Soft Skills
  • Strategic Leadership and Vision: Strong ability to develop and communicate a clear strategic vision for enterprise architecture.
  • Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills: Excellent analytical abilities and problem-solving skills, particularly in complex and large-scale IT environments.
  • Collaboration and Influencing: Exceptional collaboration skills, with the ability to influence and gain buy-in from various stakeholders, including senior executives.
  • Adaptability and Continuous Learning: A commitment to continuous learning and adaptability in the face of evolving technology and business landscapes.

Compensation/Benefits Information (US Applicants Only):
S&P Global states that the anticipated base salary range for this position is $105,000 to $ 160,000. Base salary ranges may vary by geographic location.
In addition to base compensation, this role is eligible for an annual incentive plan.
