About the Department: IHS Markit Climate and Sustainability

IHS Markit Climate and Sustainability Group continue to lead the way in delivering Climate, Power, Gas and Renewables research and data. With the world's most comprehensive, primary data assets, IHS Markit works closely with major energy multinationals across the globe. Our data and insights assist a range of companies from the largest energy players to start-ups to navigate the energy transition and actively make investment decisions.

Eligibility

Our next internship program runs through the summer of 2022. We're looking for students who are working towards a Bachelor's or Master's degree (or equivalent), and due to complete their studies to be available for a full time role commencing in 2023.

About the Role

IHS Markit is looking for a highly quantitative individual with a deep interest in the future evolution of the global energy sector. The internship position sits at the core of the Clean Energy technology team which delivers insights and analytics services to a wide client base from across the energy value chain. The team is part of the Climate and Sustainability research group from which IHS Markit delivers unrivalled insights into the future direction of global energy markets.

Key responsibilities include:
  • Support delivery of high-quality written products and client-specific projects/presentations
  • Contribute to the IHS Markit's research and analysis of CCUS project costs for specific industries.
  • Evaluate business models as necessary to understand and prioritize risks and opportunities of CCUS projects
  • Collaborate with team members and support clients in estimating and understanding CCUS costs


What we're looking for

The Summer Internship Program will provide a variety of experiences to help you identify your strengths, develop highly transferable skills, and align you to a successful career path for a bright future at IHS Markit. To be an ideal fit for the role, you should have:
  • A bachelor or master's degree (or equivalent) completed no later than May 2023
  • 0-6 months relevant work experience
  • Demonstrated passion or interest in one or more of our key industries
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • An aptitude to learn and adapt quickly in a rapidly changing environment
  • The ability to build strong working relationships in a collaborative setting
  • Be legally eligible to work for the duration of the program in the country for which you apply


For Research Analyst applicants, we recommend the following:
  • Pursuing Bachelor's or Master's degree (or equivalent) in Energy engineering , chemical & process engineering, Mathematics, Finance or related field
  • Capacity to understand and analyze technical reports and collect critical data and insights
  • Detail-oriented person with advanced knowledge of MS Excel for modelling and data analysis required
  • The candidate must be able to work independently and collaboratively
  • Be an effective communicator, self-motivated, and able to drive insights into actions
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for coordinating across teams
  • Fluent English language (second language a plus)
  • Delivering, communicating, and/or presenting results
