The Investment Bank: Capital Markets & Advisory Advance Sophomore Summer Internship Program provides hardworking college sophomores with first-hand experience in the financial services industry. The program offers outstanding sophomores the opportunity to participate in a 9-week summer internship program at Credit Suisse in Houston. The Bank believes that bringing together a class of diverse participants, including individuals from traditionally underrepresented ethnic/racial backgrounds (African American/Black, Hispanic/Latinx, Native American, Hawaiian or Pacific Islander), LGBTQ , among others, will enrich the Program. Students who efficiently complete the program may be eligible for a junior year internship program offer. Participants are selected based on their academic quality, leadership ability, and interest in financial services.

The Houston office of Credit Suisse is home to the Oil and Gas Group (Americas), which is responsible for coverage of the entire sector including upstream (E&P), midstream (pipelines, MLPs) and oilfield services (OFS). The group is part of the Global Energy Group, one of the largest industry coverage groups within Investment Bank: Capital Markets & Advisory at Credit Suisse. Credit Suisse's Oil and Gas group is involved in all aspects of capital raising, both equity and debt, as well as M&A advisory services. Our international reach and U.S. regional breadth offers unique opportunities to execute transactions from conception to close, which differentiates Credit Suisse from our competitors.

You will be placed directly into an industry or product group. As a Sophomore Summer Intern, you will have the opportunity to work on deals in your group, gain hands-on experience and work on all aspects of advising and transacting business for our clients. You will participate in a formal review at the mid and end points of the summer, and returning summer offers will be announced after the program to individuals identified as extraordinary performers.

In the program you will gain exposure to the business, learn financial modeling and valuation techniques from experienced professionals, and contribute to innovative deals that are redefining today's corporate landscape. You will also have the opportunity to develop your analytical skills by using various financial techniques, gain hands-on experience, and interact with external clientele as well as internally across multiple parts of the investment bank.

  • Students who successfully complete the summer internship program will be eligible to receive a $7,500 scholarship and may be invited back for a junior year internship.

To be eligible for this opportunity, you should be in your sophomore year at a four-year college or university (graduating in December 2022 or May/June 2023).
