The Challenge:

Thats why we need you, a financial analyst who can easily navigate the requirements, policies, and regulations that govern funding to make NASA's resources make the most impact.

As a financial analyst on our team, youll create a financial and budget analysis to help NASA's programs and missions succeed. Youll work with project managers, engineers, and organization leaders to build an actionable plan for your client to manage their budgets needed to achieve their goals. You will be responsible for providing analytical support for complex budget projects, working directly with senior department leads. Develop annual schedules for budget preparation, issue budget variance reports, and follow-up on remedial actions. Audit vouchers and expense accounts and assist with the installation of budgetary control systems.

Using your knowledge of laws, regulations, and policies, youll help your client develop well-formed requirements. Once the funding is in place, youll make sure the funding is used efficiently through consistent tracking and communication with project management. You Have:

  • Experience with budget tracking, forecasting, reporting, or full cost accounting
  • Knowledge of project financial management principles and best practices
  • Ability to support project manages to manage cost accounts, track actual and forecasted costs, process reimbursable funds, develop and track spend plans, manage project codes, or 533 reporting
  • Ability to communicate and present financial reports and budget status to organizational senior leadership
  • Ability to obtain a security clearance
  • BA or BS degree in Accounting or Finance

Nice If You Have:

  • Experience with federal government financial accounting processes and systems
  • Knowledge of NASA financial systems and tools
  • Ability to multi-task and concurrently support multiple projects and assignments
  • Project Management certification
