Position Profile

Weaver is looking to add Part-time/Seasonal Audit Assistants to our team in Dallas.  We are targeting a schedule of 25-30 hours during busy season, but open to discussing flexible schedules.   The Audit Assistant will perform in-charge responsibilities as assigned on larger and more complex engagements.  They will demonstrate a thorough understanding of technical accounting literature within the GAAP and SEC hierarchies and have an understanding of generally accepted auditing standards and common audit procedures and techniques for complex financial statement areas. The Audit Assistant will develop and enhance client relationships through strong communication and project management skills. They will execute engagement planning activities which include gathering information for time budgets, coordinating all planning activities on engagements with the supervision and guidance from more experienced staff, and designing a risk based audit approach.

Education and Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field
  • Master’s degree in Accounting or related field is preferred
  • Thorough understanding of GAAP and GAAS
  • Strong project management, team orientation and interpersonal skills
  • CPA candidate required
  • 3 + years or more of public accounting experience in Audit
  • Experience with a variety of industries and types of audits (SEC, government, non-profit, etc.) preferred
