Job Purpose

This position can work in the Frisco, TX, Alpharetta, GA, or Charlotte, NC. The preferred location is the Frisco, TX office.

What does a great Software Development Architect do?

As a member of the Deposit Solutions development team, you will be responsible for developing and ensuring adherence to technology and integration with other business units within our highly visible client focused web services application. You will have the opportunity to work on solutions architecture/design, feature enhancements, client implementations, and bug fixes as well as support of the production environment. To be successful in this role, you will need to collaborate with the product owner team, project managers, the QA test team, and other business units. The code will be developed and tested in the same two week sprint.

As a Software Development Architect, you can look forward to:
  • Leading and/or executing IT architecture, including software, infrastructure, data, integration and cloud architecture.
  • Participating in the development of long-term technology strategy for the business unit.
  • Defining critical non-functional requirements, including security, performance, scalability, and availability.
  • Serving as a liaison between information technology and enterprise teams.
  • Participating in product development planning.
  • Developing and implementing short-term and long-term technical strategies and initiatives that meet business unit needs.
  • Contributing to the development of and adherence to department budget.
  • Operating at all levels of the organization to create and define requirements, and to establish actionable strategies and needs.
  • Evaluating market solutions to support business portfolio and product needs (existing, emerging and/or new).
  • Working with vendors/third parties and Fiserv business groups to create technology roadmaps and plans.
  • Presenting or creating Fiserv solutions directly to/for Clients and prospects.
  • Acting as a solution-orientated self-starter. Identifying needs and taking action to fulfill needs.
  • Contributing to training and development of IT staff.
Youre the kind of person who:

Has at least 10 years of software development related experience and at least 5 years experience in software development or design. You are highly collaborative and can bring predictability and repeatable success to IT projects by employing methodologies and best practices. You thrive in an environment where you are interacting with external clients.

Basic qualifications for consideration:
  • Minimum 10 years of software development related experience
  • Minimum 5 years of software architecture or design experience
  • Experience working in an external client facing role
  • Experience with large, enterprise projects which are strategic to the organization
  • Expertise in SOA design principles, mocking frameworks, and security and performance testing
  • Experience with real-time system integration, web services, microservices, message brokers, REST, streaming, UI frameworks, OAuth2, Pingfed
  • Hands on experience in Angular 4 or higher, PCF, AWS or Azure
  • Experience with project development / methodologies: full software development lifecycle, Agile, etc.
  • Ability to travel 15-20%
  • High school diploma or equivalent is required
Preferred qualifications for consideration:
  • Bachelors degree
  • Financial Services industry experience, preferably analytics and/or payments related
  • Solutions architecture experience in the core banking, deposits, lending industry a plus
