The VP, Glaucoma, franchise/category is responsible for the strategic creation, management and development of Alcons global brands in the assigned franchise/category.
Provide strategic cross-functional cross-regional leadership to successfully drive product development, indications, portfolio management as well as marketing efforts to drive product adoption and sales targets globally.
Work closely with initial launch countries and teams to enable superb tactical implementation of new products, promotion & medical education strategies worldwide.
Provides R&D with solid, research-based information and recommendations to ensure that new products fill significant and profitable marketing needs.
Directly responsible for generating with R&D the market requirement specifications for each new product.
Responsible for setting Cost of Goods targets and Global Pricing in line with market and pricing strategies.
Coordinates with the medical affairs team in executing solid clinical studies that can enrich products label or collect new real world evidences aiming at improving the practice of medicine and patients outcomes.
Develop a prelaunch/launch strategy in initial market(s) in collaboration with regional marketing teams to execute a best in class global product launch.
Establishes target global pricing in collaborations with regional franchise marketing teams.
Develop global brand strategies that include market access, medical/marketing and life cycle management.
Works directly with Regional leadership to coordinate regulatory strategies and market registration prioritization.
Lead the cross functional teams to support global initiatives (e.g., initial global promotional tools, launch meetings, public relations, publications, internal communications, etc.) to maximize initial launch for product sales potential.
Insures global consistent use of messaging and branding to be accessed and utilized across regions and portfolio.
Monitor and control global budgets, forecasts and expenses and assess the marketing mix of assigned products to evaluate cost effectiveness and results.
Identify trends, opportunities and threats worldwide and propose corresponding measures.
Co-ordinate the communication of product-related information across the organization.
Provide accurate and timely global forecasts for operations planning.
Routinely work closely with internal support functions including business analytics/market research, sales training, e-business, health economics and medical communications.
