POSITION SUMMARY:

Currently, the Audit department is seeking a self-motivated, versatile Senior Auditor to be located in Dallas, TX. The Senior Auditor contributes to the successful completion of audit engagements for low to high complex business operations. This person serves as auditor-in-charge of operational and/or financial audits of low to high complexity, provides direction to multiple assisting auditors at various levels, executes audit plans, and is responsible for progress and completion. This individual may represent the District or System Audit community on System and/or District initiatives, work groups, competency centers, and knowledge forums.

The Senior Auditor operates in a proactive manner while working under limited supervision. This person maintains expertise in the operations of one or more business functions with low to moderate complexity as a part of the Audit Liaison Program. The successful candidate will consistently exhibit flexibility, professionalism, discretion, honesty and integrity in work at all times.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Works collaboratively with Audit management and staff to develop and execute the annual audit plan.

  • Develops, leads, and/or executes audit plans and objectives and monitors projects to ensure adequate audit procedures are employed and work is documented in accordance with the Institute of Internal Auditors International Standards for the Professional Practice of Internal Auditing and departmental procedures.

  • Serves as auditor-in-charge for audits with low to high complexity under general supervision of Audit department management.

  • Assesses overall condition of operations, evaluates risks, and effectively documents and communicates results to all levels of management.

  • Participates on department, District or System workgroups, projects, and initiatives, as well as System audit competency centers and knowledge forums.
  • Performs follow-up on reported observations and documents results.
  • Serves as liaison to one or more business functions of moderate to high complexity.

  • Develops, plans and evaluates internal audit programs for the organization`s accounting and statistical records and the activities of various departments to ensure compliance with the organization`s policies, procedures and standards.
  •  Determines proper accountability of assets and audits accounting records of contract agreements in which the organization is involved.
  • Prepares reports for management on the results of audits, providing recommendations on improvements.
  • Interfaces with and assists outside auditors to expedite their work.
  • Other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Demonstrates an in-depth and expert level knowledge of operational and business concepts, risk assessment practices, and internal controls

  • Ability to develop, maintain, and leverage trusted relationships with Bank management, as well as peers throughout the Federal Reserve System.

  • Demonstrates excellent oral and written communication skills, as well as presentation skills required to deal effectively with all levels of management.

  • Ability to negotiate and resolve disagreements and differences.

  • Demonstrates excellent planning and project management skills. Demonstrates excellent critical thinking skills with experience reviewing and analyzing processes to identify improvement opportunities. Demonstrates strong knowledge of Risk Assessment/Risk Management tools and processes.

  • Ability to apply comprehensive and innovative solutions to solve complex problems with minimal level of guidance and direction, or while working independently.

  • Must be action-oriented and have demonstrated initiative in completing and taking on new assignments.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or other business related field of study
  • CPA, CIA, or other industry recognized professional certification required
  • Five years of relevant professional experience in auditing or a closely related field
  • Applicants who do not meet one or more of the listed requirements will be considered at non-senior level
WORK HOURS AND CONDITIONS:
  • M-F from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.; hours may vary due to assignments/attendance; 5% travel may be required.
