Quality Assurance Engineer
QA Engineer's focus on proving product quality by displaying functional elements meet the project's definition of done. Through close interaction with all members of the Development Team each QA Engineer will work to elevate the WSO product suite's quality using their QA experience and intrinsic curiosity.

WSO Software is the industry leader in leveraged loan and high-yield solutions providing comprehensive products and services for portfolio management, servicing, reporting, and analysis.  Our portfolio management solution gives immediate access to real-time reference and transactional data on various asset classes.  Its functionality is tailored to handle the unique behavior of bank loans and compliance reporting required for complex structures.

Duties & Accountabilities
  • Consideration of Epics, Features, and User Stories in relation to product Quality (especially off the happy path)
  • Decomposes User Stories into Acceptance Criteria and test scenarios (including negative tests)
  • Understands relationship of user stories to system behavior
  • Assembles multiple user stories to model system behavior
  • Asks what happens when questions
  • Elicits decisions from PO/Designers on aspects of system behavior
  • Identifies and specifies acceptance criteria
  • Functional criteria (calculations, system flow, logic)
  • Non-functional criteria (format, style, performance expectations, error handling)
  • Ensures design level details are transparent
  • Ensures testability of design elements
  • Injects test automation
  • Sponsors test tool development
  • Capture relevant information pertaining to design details
  • Produces a test plan and collaborates with development on testing acceptance criteria
  • Produces evidence of satisfied acceptance criteria
  • Illustrates user experiences
  • Elicits acceptance of impacts to user experience
  • Identifies potential usage/configuration conflicts (e.g. client specific usage, internal usage needs, etc.)
  • Creates and manages test artifacts
  • Reviews and escalates output from Simulation and Automation teams
  • Contributes and adheres to QA best practices

Business Competencies
Candidate must display a basic understanding of various financial asset types, interest calculations, etc.

Education and experience

  • Anywhere from 1 - 6 years' experience in software testing and testing methodologies
  • Strong understanding of SDLC methodologies including waterfall, scrum and agile
  • Technical experience
  • Software Development
  • Automation Development
  • Microsoft Platforms and Software
  • Experience with test support tools (VSTS, HP-ALM, and OnTime)
  • Experience with CI-CD and support tools (Team City, Octopus Deploy)
  • DevOps exposure is a plus
  • Degree in MIS or CS

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills are a must
  • Proficient in status reporting (PowerBI)
