The Operations group is a collection of sub-departments which is responsible for everything after an account is opened or a trade occurs. The Operations group's responsibilities include opening customer accounts, account maintenance, receiving and delivering money and securities to customers, and many more.
Performs supervisory activities including ability to lead and motivate staff. Hire staff and address performance issues as necessary.
Resolves or recommends solutions to complex problems.
Responsible for non-routine activities/transactions by drawing on multiple information sources and understanding multiple effects of a transaction.
Escalation point for client issues- ability to deal with higher level client management and higher level internal staff in dealing with issues
A credible, knowledgeable resource to Specialists performing the operational processing
Maintains current procedures and makes recommendations for process/system improvement
Undergraduate degree in accounting, business or finance, or equivalent combination of training and experience
Minimum of 3 years industry experience in Financial Services Operations and/or Securities Processing
Previous Mutual Fund operations experience required
Series 6 or 7 required
Previous supervisory experience preferred of at least 1 year
General operational knowledge of mutual fund share classes, investment rules and settlement processing
Experience and/or familiarity with NSCC mutual fund networking and FundServ processing
Knowledge of DST Vision, SunGard Phase 3 and WealthStation is a plus
General understanding of Fund Dealer and Selling Agreements
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, with an emphasis in Excel
Customer focused with strong interpersonal and communication skills
Detail oriented with the ability to prioritize workload to meet daily deadlines
Exceptional analytical ability to anticipate and evaluate business and financial issues
Quick learner, team player with ability to work well in fast paced environment
Able to work additional hours and/or flexible shift assignments when needed
