WHAT YOU'LL DO 

This individual is a strong senior project manager who plays a lynchpin role in helping the Global/Regional Services HR team to function more effectively through a focus on HR processes, programs and operations, including through contributions on talent needs of PMI programs.  This role requires HR domain knowledge, excellent project management and process skills, and excellent collaboration skills (including with global stakeholders).  

  • Lead several key annual and bi-annual processes on behalf of the HR Business Partner team, including the twice annual promotion and review processes and the annual compensation process
    • Collaborate closely with the compensation team, the Workday team, HRBP team (including specialists and coordinators) to design and develop process
    • Ensure that the process is efficient, effective and repeatable, leveraging our scale (e.g., standard communications, effective use of technology, etc.)  
  • Lead successful integration of Talent into Bain as a part of a post-merger integration process, including talent/role assessment, career path, compensation/offer letters, policy and other areas. 
    • Act as the HRBP for the new organization during the integration process
    • Support an effective handoff including knowledge transfer to a permanent HRBP
  • Ensure an effective deployment of a firm strategic effort on Talent Architecture, in collaboration with other members of the Global Talent team.   Exact contributions are still TBC, but may include one or more of the following: 
    • Deployment of consistent career ladders across job families
    • A refresh of our titles to align with the TA recommendation
    • Collaboration with local offices, departments (e.g., finance, TSG), and the employee risk team to updated policies and practice
  • Lead other projects that help us to more effectively address the talent needs of the business based on strategic priorities for the firm

    • While the work will vary, a standard approach would include assessing the issue, outlining an approach, creating deliverables and managing through unforeseen issues or changes

    • Representative projects might include:  a refresh of on-boarding content, manager effectiveness training, improvements to memo processes, organizing content for department meetings, etc. 

    • Priorities to be agreed upon with supervisor

ABOUT YOU

  • Bachelors degree
  • Undergraduate major in HR, industrial psychology, management or other related field

  • HR certification a plus (not required)

  • 6-10+ years of work experience in an HR/Talent field

  • Experience working as an HR Business Partner (generalist)

  • Experience working with HR processes and systems and/or with Software Development teams

  • Experience with talent processes in post-merger integrations

  • Experience working in a consulting or other professional firm

  • Knowledge of HR fundamentals (e.g., role definition, career management, performance management, employee relations, compensation, etc.)

  • Excellent project management and process skills

  • Excellent problem solving skills, including the ability to logically structure problems using a hypothesis driven approach

  • Demonstrated ability to build consensus among diverse stakeholders

  • Ability to work effectively in global teams

  • Excellent written communication skills (in PowerPoint and in Word)

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.  Ability to adapt oral communication style to varied audiences

  • English language fluency (both written and oral)

  • High levels of discretion to appropriately manage highly confidential and sensitive data and information

  • Flexible and adaptable to change

  • Self-starter.  Ability to work independently

  • Willingness/ability to travel, including internationally.  (Up to 100% travel during PMI processes; significantly less outside of PMI processes)
