About the Role:
We are looking for a versatile Director, Operations who will provide leadership, coordination, and direct management oversight of three units within Banking Supervision Operations: Budget and Administration, which oversees the fiscal performance of the department; Planning, Process and Communication, which serves as the communication center and manages multiple processes for the department including Business Continuity, and Training, which coordinates the talent management process and the personal and professional development of staff in the department. You oversee staffing, morale, and for providing feedback and direction to all members of the area. You serve as a member or in a leadership role in Federal Reserve System, Reserve Bank, and departmental committees or projects.

You Will:

  • Provide general oversight for the budget process from planning and analyzing budget data for the department budget
  • Provide general oversight for the team responsible for delivering business and technology training to department staff, and meeting the program administration requirements of the Examiner Commissioning Program
  • Ensure the talent management process meets the expectations of customers in Banking Supervision, Human Resources, new employees, and employees who are separating
  • Manage a team responsible for providing support for applications and tools used by the examination staff; including the time tracking application
  • Make work assignments, set performance expectations, and monitors results
  • Coach and support staff members, and provide feedback for their personal development
  • Contribute to the implementation of process improvements by working with staff, applying the training, and implementing the improvement
  • Develop departmental plans, including business, production and organizational priorities
  • Compile and review the budgets for departments, taking into consideration actual performance, previous expenditure and estimated expenses and income
  • Maintain accurate spending records and establish measures for budgetary control
  • Help form policies, procedures, and guidance, and direct their implementation within the operations area and department
  • Maintain essential alliances and conduct meetings with management counterparts at other Reserve Banks and the Federal Reserve Board

You Have:

  • Bachelors degree with an emphasis in Business; Masters Degree preferred
  • Minimum five years experience managing and leading teams
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively in teams; strong interpersonal and relationshipbuilding skills
  • Working knowledge of budgeting, cost accounting, and financial forecasting concepts
  • Knowledge of current and relevant information technology tools and how to apply for business use
  • Deep interest in public service and commitment to the mission of the Federal Reserve System
  • Equivalent education and/or experience may be substituted for any of the above requirements
