The Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas is located in Dallas, Texas, and has branch offices in Houston, San Antonio, and El Paso. The Bank represents the Eleventh Federal Reserve District, which includes Texas, northern Louisiana, and southern New Mexico. Our work includes economic research and thought leadership, community engagement on issues that affect the economy, supervision of banking organizations residing in the Eleventh Federal Reserve District, and a variety of payments services to financial institutions and the U.S. government.

The Communications and Outreach Department, Industry Outreach:
District outreach at the Dallas Fed is guided by the Banks mission to serve the economic and financial interests of the people and communities in the Eleventh District of the Federal Reserve System. We connect the Dallas Fed and the people of the Eleventh District. We promote economic health, growth, and stability.

As function of the Communications and Outreach Department, the Industry Outreach team leverages and builds relationships with leaders of financial institutions to promote greater understanding of the Federal Reserves roles and responsibilities; increase understanding of, and convening individuals and organizations around, issues, concerns and opportunities for financial institutions in the Eleventh District; and communicate information to financial institution leaders concerning financial system issues and the economic well-being of the economy.

The Role

Overview:

The Assistant Vice President in Industry Outreach will provide leadership and coordinating oversight of the departments goals to build relationships with the financial institutions sector, share market intelligence and communicate with internal partners, provide expertise on issues facing financial institutions, and serve as a catalyst in efforts to improve diversity and inclusion in the banking sector.
You will ensure there is agreement to the vision and priorities of the organization. You will lead by example as a coach; identify and grow organizational capability and the talent pipeline for the success of the Federal Reserve Bank Dallas today and in the future.

You will maintain relationships with external partners and company partners at all levels in the communities we serve, in the Bank and across the Federal Reserve System.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Leadership

  • Be a leader within the Bank in vision, presence, and citizenship.
  • Have an enterprise mindset. Ensure solutions are focused on the success of the Bank and Federal Reserve System.
  • Build connections with other Reserve Banks and the Federal Reserve Board to increase the Banks thought leadership within the Federal Reserve System.
  • Maintain leading performance metrics including cost and productivity, proper risk management, and other measurements. Ensure knowledge management and distribution of data.
Financial Institution Outreach
  • Maintain relationships within the financial institutions sector
  • Be a strategic partner with internal stakeholders
  • Provide expertise on payments, cybersecurity, and Financial Technology outreach
  • Be a catalyst in efforts to improve diversity and inclusion in the banking sector.

Primary Management Responsibilities

  • Ensure all outreach function deliverables are completed promptly and consistent with our standards.
  • Cultivate partnerships with banking and credit union trade associations.
  • Conduct targeted outreach to financial intuitions including roundtables, conferences and forums.
  • Lead the banks Community Depository Institutions Advisory Council and Corporate Payments Council.
  • Brief senior management on topics affecting banking conditions, the economy, and other issues of interest to community depository institutions.
  • Demonstrate a capacity to identify and pursue multiple projects simultaneously and provide superior results timely and with minimal or no guidance.
  • Help prioritize resources considering Eleventh Federal Reserve District needs and Federal Reserve System policy priorities.

System and Community Leadership

  • Represent the Reserve Bank in meetings with bankers and the public at multiple venues and other appropriate forums.
  • Be a source of information through speaking engagements for financial institution trade associations and other stakeholder groups.
  • Actively participate or lead Federal Reserve System committees. Encourage and foster communication with the Federal Reserve Board of Governors to influence System policy and strategic direction.

Attract, Develop and Retain Superb Talent

  • Actively seek and develop great people.
  • Take a leading role in the Banks diversity agenda and hold yourself and others accountable for creating an inclusive workplace.
  • Mentor and support staff to develop the next generation of Bank leaders 

The Person

  • Strong working knowledge of applicable banking regulations, practices, and topics.
  • Five years experience in the banking, financial or similar industry.
  • Minimum five years experience leading projects, teams, and staff.
  • Bachelors degree with an emphasis in business; masters degree preferred.
  • Deep interest in public service and commitment to the mission of the Federal Reserve System.
  • Proven experience working with team members; interpersonal and relationshipbuilding skills.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Leads with integrity, demonstrating honesty and respect.
