2021 Summer Intern - Economic Research (El Paso)

ABOUT THE INTERNSHIP PROGRAM:

We offer paid, full-time summer internships for many majors, with fulfilling work and opportunities to grow. To help launch your career, we provide dedicated staff mentors. Youll also learn from senior leaders and industry experts. As part of the Federal Reserve System, youll be connected to a professional network that spans the nation. You will begin in early June and will be based in the El Paso office.

ABOUT YOUR TEAM:

Research at the El Paso Branch centers on the regional and U.S-Mexico border economies. The department also participates in the FOMC briefing process and works very closely with the Branch Communications & Outreach department.

WHAT YOULL DO:
  • Assist Research staff in economic research by gathering and analyzing data, constructing files, producing charts, and other graphics for speeches
  • Produce briefing documents or other written visual materials on assigned topics
  • Assist other departments as needed with meeting/conference preparation and assists in managing the Research Library
WHAT YOU BRING:
  • Working towards an undergraduate or Master's degree in economics
  • Coursework or experience in econometrics, math, statistics or computer science
  • Familiarity with Stata, R, SAS, or Eviews
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office
  • Excellent written, oral & interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to work in teams and independently
  • Ability to prioritize projects and task
  • Equivalent education and/or experience may be substituted for any of the above requirements

WORK HOURS:

Monday Friday, 8:00 a.m. 5:00 p.m. (40 hours/ week). Some additional hours may be required

NOTES:

This is a security sensitive position. By federal law, this position requires that candidates be a U.S. citizen.
