Product Manager

The Fidelity Institutional Investments & Technology Solutions Group is seeking a Manager, Product Management to assist with product management and analysis of the Account Opening platform utilized by Fidelity Institutional (FI) clients.

The Expertise We're Looking For

  • Business/IT Product Management/Project Planning/Program Management Skills: Experience and working knowledge with Waterfall and Agile technology development methodologies. Project planning skills is a must. Program Management is a plus.
  • Demonstrated Collaboration experience: Ability to proactively seek out and collaborate with critical business partners and clients to ensure tight integration and coordination of development and implementation.
  • Written and Oral Communication/Presentation Skills: Comfortable creating documentation and presenting to clients, business and technical management teams.
  • Operations knowledge: Knowledge of FI Client Experience and OSG operations functions (New Account Opening, Transfer of Assets, Account Maintenance).
  • Systems Interrelationships: Fundamental understanding of mainframe, middleware and front end systems. Familiarity with Wealthscape.com or strong understanding of the institutional intermediary financial services business is a plus.
  • QA/Testing: Familiarity with the testing process and the impact to project deliverables.

The Purpose of Your Role

You will Influence the deliverables, project plans and timelines for Account Opening and other related products by working collaboratively with Account Opening product leads, clients and business partners that could include Technology, Operations, Legal/Risk/Compliance, Relationship/Client Management, LOB Product Management, Testing, etc.

    The Value You Deliver
  • Evaluate and consult on client needs and business requirements related to client onboarding (i.e. Account Opening)
  • Understands stages of the product lifecycle and supports recommendations for investment or decommissioning decisions based on product lifecycle.
  • Help develop product scope, functional and non-functional requirements, and user acceptance test cases.
  • Participate in functional, technical, design and Legal-Risk-Compliance reviews, quality assurance triage reviews, and usability planning/sessions.
  • Help coordinate client engagement in pilot phases to record compelling user feedback which can be incorporated into the product backlog. Support backlog prioritization activities and roadmap management/sharing with partners
  • Serve as secondary point of contact to internal associates and support groups for the Account Opening platform.
  • Helps maintain and prioritize product backlog, enhancement and development opportunities.
  • Leads tactical project/product initiatives to drive implementation of agreed upon product strategy.
  • Review client feedback verbatim and propose ideas/opportunities to provide value-added solutions to Account Opening for the broad client base, working in partnership with the overall Account Opening owner.
  • Participate on technology project teams. Help drive technology deliverables to meet client need, while exceeding quality standards within budget allocated.
  • Monitor and assist project teams during onboarding of strategic clients to ensure seamless transition to online account opening tools.
  • Engage Fidelity Legal, Risk and Compliance teams as appropriate and necessary to help ensure alignment with regulatory requirements and appropriately manage risk.
  • Collaborate with technology to estimate technology expense required to implement requirements aligned to 12-18 month delivery plan
  • Regularly share thinking and planning regarding options of new technology solutions to improve overall Account Opening offering.
  • Ensure robust product communication and coordinate internal and external stakeholder meetings.
  • Participate in technology triage of either/both production incidents or issues identified during quality assurance cycle.
