Communications Coordinator

As Communications Coordinator, External Communications, you will be responsible for supporting the development and execution of strategic communications programs that drive stakeholder advocacy through engaging experiences with relevant, creative content.

The Expertise We're Looking For

  • Internship in communications, specifically public relations highly preferred

The Purpose of Your Role

As Communications Coordinator, you are driving the day-to-day administrative and public relations needs of Fidelity's external communications team. The position plays a critical role in helping the team manage time-sensitive work that is both high-profile and sensitive in nature. This candidate must be able to create content for and engage with social media platforms (e.g., LinkedIn and Twitter), manage and multi-task on multiple short-turn around requests and be resourceful in his/her work approach. The ideal candidate for this role has a passion for working collaboratively with a team, is dedicated to delivering best-in-class communications results and is looking to build a career in communications.

  • You are proficient in PowerPoint and Microsoft Outlook, and you're pretty good with Word and Excel too. You've dabbled or at least heard of Vocus, Factiva or other media monitoring programs.

The Value You Deliver
  • Assisting with the preparation of media materials, including media briefing documents on reporters, executive biographies, news releases and talking points.
  • Functioning as the team's media expert, creating and maintaining media lists, conducting daily media monitoring and sharing of relevant industry coverage, following key reporters, preparing media coverage reports and tracking editorial calendars.
  • Assisting with a growing executive social media program on LinkedIn and Twitter; this includes managing content calendars, developing engaging content and daily monitoring of the social environment.
  • Measuring the effectiveness of communications programs through methods such as social media analytics, share-of-voice analysis, media impressions and client/business unit feedback; to include creation and assembly of weekly, monthly and ad hoc communications reports for senior management.
  • Functioning as a project manager capable of managing multiple and simultaneous projects, ensuring that all efforts meet Fidelity's high standards in the areas of accuracy, ethics, legal and compliance.
  • Being part of an integrated team across Fidelity's Communications, Public Affairs and Policy group.
