NRA Tax Specialist
Ensures compliance with the various rules and regulations affecting Wealth Management's withholding and reporting responsibilities relating to nonresident alien (NRA) clients and clients affected by the Foreign Account Tax Compliance Act (FATCA), as well as adherence to all related corporate and departmental policies.Requires the review and maintenance of client documentation to properly establish beneficial owner tax status.Researches and comprehends relevant tax laws regarding documentation, withholding, and reporting, and is able to read and understand various income tax treaties.Understands the taxation and reporting of different types of investment income and is able to employ BNY Mellons systems to handle the various situations that may be encountered.Works closely with tax preparation vendor to ensure the timely and accurate filings of all relevant forms for Wealth Management accounts.This position will be the recognized expert in all matters of nonresident-alien/FATCA documentation and investment income taxation and reporting, and will represent Wealth Management Tax on these matters. It will require the ability to interact with internal and external clients, support areas, and taxing authorities, and to identify, articulate, and timely resolve NRA and FATCA related issues.

Qualifications
BS/BA. MBA or JD preferred. 5 years of direct experience or related experience in tax reporting or tax law. Professional certification preferred.
