Vice President, Data Acquisition

Overview

•The Data Sources team in the Data Strategy & Management organization (Chief Data Office) is responsible for the acquisition, ingestion and evaluation of all types of data and data capabilities that can be utilized for innovation by a wide range of Mastercard product teams.

•The Vice President, Data Acquisition will have global responsibility to source data from partners and vendors to develop data products and provide insights for Mastercard's stakeholders, including financial institutions and merchants. The Vice President will identify and evaluate data sources and manage relations with those data sources.

Role

Vice President, Data Acquisition
•Develop and execute global strategy to acquire data from third parties outside of the Mastercard network to expand, enhance and improve Mastercard's existing data assets
•Engage with internal stakeholders, including global business units and the Data Strategy & Management team, to determine data requirements, such as minimum data quality and volume, and the value of data identified to be acquired
•Manage globally the identification, evaluation, and use of third party data across all product and services teams. Work with local business units to find local data suppliers to supplement global data suppliers.
•Educate businesses across Mastercard about data that may be available from third parties and about acquired data, including relevant data quality and data protection issues. Document and track acquired data inventories and relevant license scope.
•Manage contracts and relationships with third party data suppliers.
•Engage with legal and privacy teams to review data assets and proposed uses of data. To the extent any potential data sources include regulated data, such as credit data, maintain inventory of limitations and required compliance measures required to ingest and use data.

All About You

•Advanced experience working with data products, either in acquisition, development or evaluation
•Bachelor's degree in science, mathematical, engineering, or technology
•Strong analytical skills
•Experience in vendor management, RFPs, and contract negotiations
•Ability to communicate to internal and external stakeholders the value of data
•Fluent in data and data regulatory situations
