Senior Counsel, Regulatory Affairs

Overview:
Mastercard's Global Regulatory team is responsible for liaising with key regulators and law enforcement officials for the purpose of preventing or minimizing the impact of adverse regulations on the company's profitability and growth potential. This position is integral to a Mastercard strategic initiative and will report to the Senior Managing Counsel, Regulatory Affairs, based in Purchase. The work will include developing global views on the regulatory footprint for Mastercard's activities in the remittance space and will involve liaising with the regulatory team across the globe.

Role:
The Senior Counsel, Regulatory Affairs will assist in managing Mastercard's strategic initiatives for Account to Account Cross-border activity as it relates to the regulatory environment. Key activities include:

•Participate in the development and execution of regulatory strategy associated with Account to Account Cross-border activities
•Participate in the product development process to ensure compliance with applicable regulation and licensing requirements
•Be the point of contact for the global Account to Account business team on legal reviews
•Will be responsible for developing global insights to be provided to Executive Management on the regulatory implications of the strategic initiative
•Review and analyze regulatory advice for advancing the strategic initiative
•Work closely with Region Account to Account Regulatory Affairs team members to create a coordinated global approach to legal advice
•Engage with the Regional Account to Account Regulatory Affairs team members to determine license requirements.
•Drive review of license requests to the Licensing Stakeholder group, as necessary
•Coordinate on regulatory compliance with the regions
•Liaise with the Global Compliance team on impacts of legal reviews

All About You:
•JD from an established and reputable law school
•Proven success in navigating Mastercard or multi-national organizations and operating effectively within a diverse multicultural organization
•Must demonstrate a proactive, time sensitive, results driven approach in carrying out all duties, obligations and responsibilities
•Excellent written and oral communication skills a must.
