Wealth Management Risk Associate - Business Continuity Planning
Morgan Stanley's Wealth Management Data Security and Infrastructure Risk Team seeks a Team Coordinator to support the team with a variety of organizational, logistical, and administrative tasks.
The Data Security and Infrastructure Risk Team sits within the Wealth Management Risk organization and strives to find the right balance between risk management and business enablement. The Data Security group works to ensure that our client's sensitive PII (Personally Identifiable Information) is stored and replicated securely, used properly and accessed by only authorized individuals. The Infrastructure Risk group helps Wealth Management meet or exceed Firm and regulatory standards by applying additional controls in areas such as: Entitlement Management, Business Continuity Planning, Vendor Risk Management and Privacy Policy Adherence. Finally, the Client and Field Education and Engagement group provides resources to help protect our employees and clients from cyber-enabled fraud.
The Business Continuity Planning function seeks an Associate to assist with driving the assessment, development and communication of business continuity plans to protect the Wealth Management business in the event of a business disruption.
Key responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, the following:
  • Support both the enhancement and expansion of existing programs around business continuity planning and the testing of business continuity plans to ensure that, during an incident, all business units will be able to recover, perform critical business processes and limit the impact of the incident to the broader Firm
  • Interact with critical business units and support groups for the purpose of planning, directing and controlling contingency planning efforts while facilitating their plan development
  • Conduct periodic reviews and tests of established plans and procedures, reporting findings to management and making recommendations for improvements as needed
  • Coordinate monthly reporting collation and distribution for program governance and monitoring purposes
  • Provide necessary support in situations that may cause disruption to operations and invocation of business continuity plans, including impact analysis
  • Facilitation of mandatory business continuity awareness and escalation of business continuity risks
  • Provide status reports to senior management, auditors and regulators


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • 3+ years' experience in financial industry and/or business management
  • Prior experience with Business Continuity Management, Risk, Resiliency, Compliance and/or Audit a plus
  • Ability to use desktop tools to perform analyses and develop presentations for senior management
  • Working knowledge of MS Office, particularly Excel and PowerPoint
  • Strong listening and verbal/written communications skills, with the ability to tailor messages to specific audiences
  • Strong process management skills
  • Ability to manage delivery/execution of a wide range of tasks and initiatives
  • Ability to work independently and possess a strong sense of accountability/ownership
