Morgan Stanley Services Group Inc. seeks a Vice President, Telecommunications Sourcing in New York, New York

Source IT categories, specifically Telecom and Hardware. Create sustainable value across all Telecomm and Hardware spend and associated sub-categories, sourcing and embedding robust contract management on both a single-market and global basis. Deliver measurable annual savings, and cost avoidance, as well as drive insight through market research, benchmarking, supplier knowledge, and networking. Coordinate with members of the IT Sourcing Team and managers globally with a goal to reduce costs and to minimize the contractual risks. Deliver corporate-wide identified savings targets by working daily with internal and external stakeholders. Execute a strategic plan in order to achieve Telco Sourcing targets. Review, conduct, and execute on complex RFPs to achieve business objectives. Develop and document a clear strategic plan for relevant, assigned sub-categories, including: Transport/Carrier (including Mobility); hardware and hardware maintenance; wireless; and multimedia. Optimize total cost of ownership for the Firms spend. Develop, maintain, and grow strategic, senior relationships with Managing Directors, Executive Directors, Vice Presidents, and other key stakeholders in order to successfully execute a specific portion of the Telco Team's strategic plan. Develop and implement best-in-class procurement strategies to effectively source a portion of the Telco spend in coordination with vendors, product owners, legal, and other internal stakeholders. Review the Telco sourcing operations and make recommendations to roadmap as necessary to support a best in class operation.

Requires a Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Communications Engineering, or related field of study and six (6) years of experience in the position offered or six (6) years of experience as an Analyst, Associate, or related occupation in financial services vendor management. Requires six (6) years of experience with: Ariba; supplier management; contract lifecycle management; MS Office including Excel, Project, and PowerPoint; telecom transport and mobility domain including latency, diversity, subsea cabling, WAN connectivity, LAN connectivity, microwave technologies, colocation services, handoffs, POPs, POTS, network architecture; and mobility; wireless technologies including 4G LTE, 5G, and dark fiber; reading and understanding commercial terms in transport/carrier contracts; google earth and use of KMZ files; cash flows; cost of capital; TCO modeling; building and maintaining relationships with suppliers; stake holder management; sourcing telco initiatives; strategic sourcing methodologies and category management processes; negotiating; telco categories including hardware, wireless, multimedia product set, and transport; project management; coordinating global and cross-functional teams; and preparing presentations and presenting to stakeholders. Requires four (4) years of experience with: risk management and projecting short term and long term trends in the telecom industry.
