The Accounting Policy Group is focused on researching technical accounting matters for both internal and external clients under US GAAP and IFRS. Internal clients include the CFO and controllers group, financial reporting, various derivatives businesses (equity, fixed income and credit), global securitized markets, asset finance group, commodities, TTS, corporate lending, investment banking, among others. External clients include treasury, finance and accounting executives at our corporate and financial institutions clients.

The position is also responsible for:

- Assisting implementation efforts for new accounting standards, primarily US GAAP but including IFRS
- Preparing and delivering presentations to facilitate firm-wide education of new or changing accounting requirements to ensure that management understands the impact of new standards and regulations
- Reviewing products and structured transactions and assisting Accounting Policy in its role in the New Product Approval Committee process
-Working on technical matters concerning our Latin America region
-Other tasks will include assisting Accounting Policy's interaction with accounting standard setters (for example, the Financial Accounting Standards Board and International Accounting Standards Board) and industry committees

Qualifications

- BA/BS in Accounting
- Big 4 accounting firm financial services and/or national technical office experience or accounting policy or other technical accounting role at a financial institution preferred (minimum 5-7 years experience). Experience working for FASB and/or U.S. banking regulator is highly desirable
- CPA preferred
- Knowledge of accounting and financial instruments under US GAAP and knowledge of financial markets is required
- The individual must possess excellent interpersonal and client service skills as well as have the ability to work very closely and confidently with many different levels of management on the business side
- Strong research, analytical, organization and drafting skills are also necessary
- The successful candidate will have the ability to multi-task while working on long-term projects
- The candidate should be a fast thinker/quick learner and possess the ability to work effectively under pressure in a rapidly changing environment in order to meet deadlines
