RESPONSIBILITIES AND QUALIFICATIONS Duties: Vice President with Goldman Sachs Bank USA in New York, NY. The Scrum Master will serve development teams and product managers by owning the Agile software development life cycle process. Facilitate scrum events and other ad-hoc meetings for teams within Agile/Scrum delivery framework. Assist Product Owners in product backlog maintenance and prioritization and planning. Serve as the information radiator for software delivery teams, harnessing open communication as the effective force; and representing the team to senior management, stakeholders and sponsors. Effectively utilize metrics and data visualization to report progress and support data-driven decision making using agile project portfolio management tool (JIRA etc.) for reporting and analysis. Oversee all activities from a software development lifecycle perspective including planning, initiation, building, testing, release and operation. Keep technical debt in check. Standardize the process for collecting compromises and tradeoffs and ensure appropriate prioritization and resolution. Teach and facilitate estimation and planning both at the team and organizational level. Assist in creating useful, reliable and practical plans for delivery of sprints and releases. Coach and mentor developers, designers and product team members in Agile practices, values and principles. Plan and help manage risks, issues, and contingency plans. Help teams or individuals to clarify goals and actions to achieve them, follow up on deliverables, and maintain plans against business objectives. Shield team from outside distractions, context switching and interferences by tracking and removing impediments.

Job Requirements: Bachelor's degree (U. S. or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Management Information Systems, Information Technology or a related field and must have five (5) years of experience in the job offered or in a related role. Must have 5 years of experience as a Scrum Master for a software development team within a large organization. Must have 5 or more years of experience with: leading multiple software delivery teams using variety of latest technologies and contexts including distributed teams (across geographies and time zones); working concurrently with at least 2-3 teams as an agile practitioner and delivery execution lead, including experience with the software delivery lifecycle in Agile environment; facilitating conflict resolution and building consensus within a geographically distributed development team; facilitating Scrum team ceremonies such as retrospective, sprint planning, backlog refinement, and daily stand ups; communicating effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders within the context of a software development project and program; supporting and educating the Product Owner on an Agile team, especially with respect to refining and maintaining the product backlog; resolving software delivery issues, including experience with software delivery lifecycle, including multi-tier application architecture, micro services, and data stores; Agile estimation, including normalizing story point estimation across multiple teams; managing project risks, issues and contingency plans; developing, coaching, training and mentoring developers, testers, senior management, product owners in the use of Scrum, modern software development practices, Kanban, ATDD, and XP technical practices; analyzing and reporting agile project and program data to teams and senior management; and scaling Agile in large organizations as a Scrum Master and Agile Coach role, including Agile frameworks and world-leading scaling models, such as SAFe (Scaled Agile Framework). Must have a track record of continued and recent education and certification in Scrum techniques and Agile development methodology. Certification in Scrum is required.
