Department Profile:
The Multicultural Client Strategy Team at Morgan Stanley seeks to position the Firm as a corporate leader in engaging productively and commercially with multicultural constituents. The team achieves this objective by initiating, leveraging and engaging key relationships in multicultural markets, by delivering the Firm's resources to these clients and by building on our core principles as a financial services firm that is invested in driving positive commercial outcomes in the multicultural business segment.

The group is focused on developing innovative programs that will advance the aforementioned objective and create the building blocks for future revenue generation from multicultural clients. The group also seeks to continue initiation and development of coverage relationships with multicultural decision makers, execute large marquee client events, promote the entrepreneurial innovation lab and expand the Capital Access Initiative to a nationwide platform, among other initiatives.

Responsibilities:
The Vice President role on the Multicultural Client Strategy Team will be an integral team member of the Multicultural Innovation Lab, an in - house accelerator for multicultural and women - led tech and tech - enabled startups. More specifically, the Vice President's responsibilities will include:
- Managing key processes including investment selection, evaluation, due diligence, negotiation, closing, ongoing corporate governance, and potential exit of the portfolio companies
- Preparing detailed valuation analyses and presentations to the Investment Committee and monitoring strategic developments relevant to the portfolio companies
- Managing the existing portfolio of companies by interacting with the management team, overseeing valuation analysis, company forecasting and collaborating with the Strategic Investments Group and Financial Controllers for quarterly reporting
- Creating executive reporting packages/presentations on a monthly, quarterly and ad - hoc basis
- Synthesizing analyses into meaningful deliverables/presentations for senior management, the Innovation Lab's investment committee, and external stakeholders

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate should have significant knowledge of both financial products and financial analysis including different valuation methodologies and should be capable of both leading and managing large, multidimensional projects.

Skills Required:
-Exceptional analytical skills with a fundamental understanding of corporate finance and investment principles as well as financial products/securities
-Extensive experience managing projects with minimal supervision, in addition to sound judgment and the ability to operate independently
-Strong time management and organizational skills, with the ability to manage a significant workload and work well under pressure, in addition to a demonstrated ability to deliver to a range of audiences (both internal and external) with a range of differing priorities
-Exceptional writing, communication (both internal and external) and presentation delivery skills
-Proactive self - starter and creative problem solver with a demonstrated interest and passion in the multicultural business sector, as well as in the investing and impact sectors
- 6 - 8 years of relevant experience in investment banking, corporate finance or strategic investments
