And, we believe that exceptional content strategy and execution is critical for Advisor Center to become an essential resource for financial advisors.

We are looking for a multi-talented content strategist to lead the content experiences for financial advisors at BlackRock. You will own content in Advisor Center end-to-end: from definition of a content strategy to curating the best content from inside and outside BlackRock to monitoring the performance of content on Advisor Center. You will partner with marketing, sales, product managers + designers in the Advisor Center team and across BlackRock to help financial advisors build better portfolios, scale their practices and have better client conversations.

You will be joining the Advisor Center team … a small, entrepreneurial group of product managers, developers + designers passionate about the potential that the right content and tools have to radically improve the advisor-client relationship. We are made up of financial industry veterans and newcomers. We welcome a diversity of ideas including bringing the best content practices of other industries into the world of investing and financial advice. We are here to shake up an industry with too few delightful experiences by creating new content + tools for financial advisors. You will be our first content strategist … so we want someone comfortable blazing new trails and leading the team in how to create a world-class content experience.

Roles and responsibilities:

  • Develop a content strategy for the Advisor Center ecosystem that connects the dots across marketing, sales and other partners to identify opportunities to bring contextually relevant content to advisors. We want to provide financial advisors with investing insights and strategies in plain English so they can share financial analysis and plans with any client.
  • Identify content based on segmentation and targeting strategies (co-developed with marketing and sales) to deliver insights and actions to financial advisors on portfolio construction and product guidance
  • Work closely with the product management and development teams to ensure that site reflects strategic product goals
  • Monitor and educate team on industry best practices and competitive landscape
  • Define and manage the governance process for changes across the site with key partners from across the organization
  • Monitor the website regularly, looking at analytics and making decisions about the site navigation, content and user experience
  • Accountable for general site hygiene including retiring pages, monitoring site metrics / bounce rates, SEO, Net Promotor Score (NPS)
  • Coordinate any platform related dependencies across various teams

Qualifications and requirements:

  • BA in journalism, communications, marketing or related discipline
  • 3 – 5 years of experience managing and editing content for a content-centric web experience
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; prefer prior experience writing for the web
  • Be a self-starter with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
  • Strong organization skills and proven success in a project/program management capacity = able to take responsibility for content projects and see them through to completion
  • Track-record of collaborating across organizations with the ability to build positive, trust-based relationships
  • Strong analytical skills. Experience on Adobe Analytics would be a plus
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Understanding of financial markets, investment products and investing; or a strong interest and passion for learning about the industry
