The effective management of capital, liquidity and collateral is recognized as being among the most significant challenges currently faced by the banking sector. Effectively managing those metrics will be a significant determinant of our future competitiveness. Successful candidates will be asked to make a major contribution to Citi's financial resources business planning mandate by leading business engagement and liaising with key partners.
Financial Resources Management (FRM) is a front-office unit within the Markets and Securities Services (MSS) group which provides in-business leadership on capital and liquidity efficiency. The team's role is to solve complex problems, concentrating on regulatory capital and liquidity management and optimisation opportunities in MSS, and the larger Institutional Clients Group franchise.
FRM is seeking to add a Vice President to its Capital Optimisation group in New York.
The team's primary focus is the identification of potential optimisation opportunities and the development and implementation of optimisation strategies across our Markets businesses globally. The team is actively involved in analytical and advocacy efforts related to regulatory developments with implications for capital activities. In addition, the team plays a critical role in the development of business forecasts and strategy, as it relates to financial resource constraints. Key benefits include the development of an unusually broad perspective on the firm's markets activities (including Rates, FX, Equities and Commodities), the acquisition of specialised knowledge of regulatory developments and the firm's financing practices, experience developing and implementing complex analytical processes and technology solutions, exposure to senior leadership, and a rewarding, creative, and dynamic working environment.

Key responsibilities include:
• Engage with core business partners to provide guidance and support for period over period variance analysis
o Proactively assess and report material variances
o Coordinate explanations and messaging
o Support additional analysis and business engagement
• Help develop a robust forecasting framework for capital and related metrics
o Engage with relevant business partners to ensure optimal deployment of resources by conveying key strategic messages
o Coordinate with partners in Ops/Tech to create enhanced tools to improve and streamline the forecasting process
• Support and engage in senior messaging and business presentations
o Develop materials and messaging
o Coordinate with key partners in Finance (LFO's) to ensure consistency and alignment
• Identify opportunities to enhance Citi's capital management capabilities
o Build an in-team Optima/EE data expertise
o Perform data-driven analytics
o Support data/analytics for management presentations


• Bachelor's degree
• Relevant experience in the Financial Services industry or strategy consulting
• Demonstrated ability to synthesize information into a clear and impactful message
• Experience partnering with business owners to assess strategy and identify opportunities
• Ability to coordinate processes and work as part of multiple teams across a firm
• An open mind for critical and creative thinking
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
• Evidence of analytical aptitude regarding data analysis and quantitative strategies
• Ability to visualize concepts and analytics, and contribute to impactful presentations
• Detailed knowledge of securities markets / trading experience trading in repo, fixed income or equity markets is a significant benefit
• Familiarity with global regulatory requirements relating to collateral, liquidity and capital is a significant benefit
• Some knowledge of Citi's infrastructure is a plus
• Familiarity with large scale data and querying ability is preferred
