RESPONSIBILITIES AND QUALIFICATIONS Duties: Vice President with Goldman Sachs & Co. LLC in New York, NY. Multiple positions available. Function as part of FAST team (Franchise Analytics, Strategy & Technology). Responsible for building data-driven tools, analytics and models to quantify business opportunities, understand the Firm's client flows, and forecast client needs. Work closely with sales, trading, desk strategies, financial managers and technologists to deploy analytics to sales and trading business, and advise business leadership on potential action based on data-driven insight. Collect and collate data from fragmented sources into a common, centralized platform. Apply sophisticated machine learning techniques to complex financial data sets in order to build and refine models to capture key themes, topics and sentiment currently active in the market and in Goldman Sachs businesses. Develop and maintain recommendation engines to suggest insightful and relevant trade ideas for clients and optimize the presentation of data and analytics to the Firm's sale force. Review trade history, regulatory holding filings, market data, text based sources, and other inputs to build a Model which identifies relevant securities or trade themes. Mentor and guide one (1) Analyst. Ability to work remotely one (1) day per week.

Job Requirements: Ph.D. degree (U.S. or foreign equivalent) in Engineering, Data Science, Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence or a related field plus five (5) years of experience in the job offered or related position applying machine learning and artificial intelligence techniques in the context of financial markets. Must have five (5) years of experience with: collecting and cleansing complex financial data from multiple sources; determining appropriate machine learning/artificial intelligence models for analyzing data based on its financial context; utilizing Big Data tools and/or programming languages such as R, Python, Tensorflow or Scala, and relational databases; implementing and maintaining machine learning/artificial intelligence models to a high production standard, including clear curation of inputs, version control of models, carefully managed model training processes, ensuring reliable and robust quality of output under heavy demand from live sales and trading systems; interpreting results and discussing conclusions with experienced market sales and trading professionals; driving changes to business actions and decisions in light of data-driven insights; using Python to process data and build machine learning tools; utilizing understanding of capital market dynamics and micro-structure for financial products and modelling these using machine learning; participating in the full Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and applying Best Practices; working with database query languages such as SQL and management tools required for processing large sets of data; performing statistical analysis of large and high-dimensional real time market data datasets; utilizing machine learning techniques such as Bayesian learning, neural networks, and principal component analysis; and applying knowledge of equity markets and market structure and conducting analysis of large trades and complex strategies. Occasional travel required to Firm offices globally, and to attend recruiting events, seminars and conferences.
