Firm Risk Management
Firm Risk Management (FRM) enables Morgan Stanley to achieve its business goals by partnering with business units across the Firm to realize efficient risk-adjusted returns, acting as a strategic advisor to the Board and protecting the Firm from exposure to losses as a result of credit, market, liquidity, operational, model and other risks.

Background on the Position
The role will reside within Firm Risk Management's Model Risk Management (MRM) area which is a team dedicated to providing the Firm's model risk management framework, which includes managing Policy and Procedures, validation of all of the Firm's models, model risk governance, and model risk reporting to senior management and oversight committees.

Morgan Stanley is seeking a strong Project Manager to join its Model Risk Management department in New York. This role serves as the project management lead for key model risk governance initiatives, including implementation of key changes to policies and procedures, infrastructure improvements, and management reporting enhancements.

Primary Responsibilities
· Work with stakeholders to develop project plans and accountability for milestones and progress. Run project meetings and drive initiatives toward successful completion by established deadlines.
· Implement successful solutions to improve process effectiveness and to drive efficiencies across the model risk framework
· Escalate issues as required to the appropriate project teams, business partners or senior management across the businesses and corporate functions
· Serve as main point of contact for MRM governance projects and communicate project status to project stakeholders and senior management
· Assist MRM department with performing gap analysis between current practice and new regulatory mandates and develop future projects to address any gaps


Skills Required
· Experience with managing large scale projects involving multiple disciplinary areas across finance, risk management and front-office
· Demonstrate ability to prioritize competing responsibilities and work against tight deadlines while achieving high quality outputs
· Demonstrate high level of diligence and attention to detail ensuring high quality and consistency in the deliverables produced
· Ability to generate innovative ideas, challenge the status quo and deliver effectively
· A positive and flexible outlook required to operate in a constantly changing environment
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills with ability to present ideas concisely and persuasively; strong interpersonal skill with ability to build and manage relationships with project stakeholders.
· Bachelor's Degree

Skills Preferred
· Experience working with governance processes including firm wide implementation of initiatives
· Project management / analysis experience in Front-office, Finance, Risk Management, or Model Validation areas of investment bank.
· Change management capabilities with experience in both tactical and strategic programs
· Experience with financial services industry regulatory guidance
