This newly created global team provides observations on the quality & effectiveness of the surveillance alert generation process and when appropriate makes alert scenario enhancement recommendations to compliance management. A key component of assessing the quality & effectiveness is through conducting calibration & effectiveness reviews of compliance surveillance alert scenarios. The team conducts and documents the calibration & effectiveness reviews on a periodic / routine basis

Key responsibilities will include:

• Conduct calibration an effectiveness reviews of priority alert scenarios; which includes performing statistical analysis on threshold settings / alert disposition categories

• Perform Quality Assurance on reviews being conducted by staff

• Routinely review existing processes / procedures and provide input / recommendations for enhancing processes and come up with strategic solutions for calibrating & validating global surveillance alert scenarios

• Work with the broader surveillance team, compliance IT and BLC to analyze alert scenario / detection engines, applicable regulations, scenario logic and data being leverage to determine alerts scenario effectiveness.

• Promote continuous business analysis by interpreting relevant industry regulations and Firm's Compliance policies to ensure controls are appropriately implemented and monitored for compliance surveillance

• Continuously monitor process stability and escalate to senior management any current or future risks

• Act as a key member of the team, interface with local Compliance officers, business staff, IT, regional stakeholders and vendors to improve / upgrade existing processes and systems.

• Create and monitor Key Performance Indicators and Key Risk Indicators relevant to the alert generation / calibration program effectiveness

• May require periodic (quarterly/ annual) travel

• Program MI / Metrics reporting to the surveillance management team and compliance exco members Qualifications

• University degree, preferably in Finance, Business, Accounting or Economics. Relevant post grad degree (e.g. MBA, JD, Computer Science degree) a plus

• 8 + years of experience in the industry or relevant work experience in a comparable organization, exchange or regulatory institution

• Prior experience working in a compliance surveillance department covering market abuse and market manipulation type of activities

• Prior experience working in an audit and/or a compliance testing type function

• Understanding of, and interest in, securities and banking laws, financial markets/ regulatory environment

• Experience conducting statistical analysis on large data sets; understanding of and interpreting Boxplot analysis

• Ability to document results and recommend improvements regarding compliance surveillance controls • Ability to effectively work with a variety of stakeholders from different backgrounds and across different jurisdictions.

• Able to project and people manage and ensure issues are resolved effectively

• Able to work independently and as part of a team

• Able to influence decision making and practical implementation of regulatory strategies and practices

• Versatile and flexible with the ability to manage with ambiguity.

• Experience working with Business Intelligence tools a plus (i.e. Qlikview, Tableau, Spotfire, Cognos, Micro Strategy, etc.)

• Experience drafting business requirements, functional specifications, conducting data analysis and creating test cases for UAT testing.

• Securities industry licenses a plus
