VP – Senior Credit Office/Manager SC Surveillance
Job Description The opportunity is for an individual to take a senior role and managerial responsibility in the team which is responsible for monitoring all US Structured Credit transactions including BSL and SME CLOs, US TRUPS CDOs, SF CDOs, Repacks, and SC transactions. The team's key objective is to perform rigorous credit analysis in a timely and efficient manner ensuring high ratings accuracy and providing a high degree of transparency to the market.

The successful candidate will work collaboratively with other senior leaders and teams to ensure the team achieves its objectives. The successful candidate will chair rating committees, manage, mentor and coach analytical staff, proactively undertake and independently lead/supervise complex analytical, process and efficiency improvement projects. He/she will work with other senior leaders in the team to improve overall operational efficiencies and ensure that all members of the team apply Moody's policies, procedures and best practices. In addition, the individual is expected to take thought leadership initiatives to enhance our analytics, research and outreach efforts.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and develop a small team of professionals responsible for the credit analysis and surveillance of ratings for a complex array of structured credit transactions. Lead the team to produce work product of highest quality.
  • Proactively identify credit issues and aspire to provide the best and timely solutions.
  • Identify and help team manage various methodological projects. Be responsible for ensuring projects assigned to you are properly supported, resourced and kept on track, and work with multiple teams and constituents within the firm as appropriate.
  • Identify and implement process improvements on a continual basis.
  • Establish and maintain a culture of high quality customer service that provide various stakeholders (e.g. investors, intermediaries and issuers) with timely service by responding to credit issues timely, engaging with investors, and discussing reasonable timeframes for services with issuers as relevant.
  • Assist in managing the team's outreach initiatives, including public speaking roles for internal briefings and industry conferences. Maintain a solid understanding of relevant industry, competitive landscape and current trends affecting industry participants and represent Moody's to market participants on these topics.
  • Assist in managing the team's credit research efforts by fostering, curating and editing articles and credit opinions. Proactively identify relevant topics. Review and approve, as appropriate, draft research products of team members. Emphasis on timely, relevant research on credit events and trends that is in-depth, high quality, insightful and focused.
  • Promote the culture of compliance and meet regulatory requirements while preserving service levels

  • Substantial credit/risk assessment experience for over 12 years gained from a credit rating agency, financial institution, asset management or public accounting firm, or proven equivalent
  • Ability to mentor and develop team members at various levels
  • Extensive understanding of Structured Finance and Moody's methodologies for rating and monitoring CLOs and other structured credit related transactions, as well as financial markets and their regulatory environment.
  • Well-developed analytical skills with the ability to collate information into reasoned arguments.
  • Excellent communication skills - able to communicate clearly and succinctly including the ability to articulate complex analytic and strategic issues and influence audiences of different skill and knowledge levels.
  • Ability to manage multiple competing priorities within deadlines.
  • Strong abilities in Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to conceptualize, plan, initiate and execute strategies within the team and/or across the franchise to meet objectives.
