Trader Assistant M/F - VIE New York
The EMM Rate trading desk focuses on the Electronic Market Making of fixed income products. The trading is purely automated from pricing to clients to hedging the products and managing the inventory. The desk focuses on US treasuries cash and futures, Interest rates swaps, ETF and credit bonds.

Key purposes of the role
  • Perform client and trade analyses
  • Propose new statistical methods and Machine Learning algorithm to describe, sum-up and understand client behaviours
  • Improve existing code dedicated to analytic tools
  • Understand the global structure of the electronic market making desk
  • Understand the different risks and challenges facing by the desk

  • Responsibilities

  • Performing daily and monthly client analysis (Hit Ratio, Hedging costs, Performance, ...)
  • Performing trade analysis to quickly identify opportunities and trading issues
  • Present monthly analytical report and proposals to head of trading desks with the help of EMM traders
  • Working on the universe of products inside the scope (treasuries cash and futures, interest rates swaps, credit bonds)
  • Responsible for python/C# client analysis code base: identify potential code issues, propose correction/improvement and implement optimal solution
  • Manage data lake of Terabyte composed of client trading data, automaton data, market data, ...
  • Follow-up with other development done by other teams or other regions

    The VIE assignment in a nutshell

    This VIE in New-York City is to begin as soon as possible but you need to plan 3 months between your application date and the beginning of your VIE assignment. It will last 18 months.
    The VIE is a specific contract, under Business France's eligibility criteria, opened to candidates under 28 and from the member states of the European Economic Space.

    Your profile

    Master degrees or equivalent in quantitative field (Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science)

    The ideal candidate needs to have a strong interest in finance and particularly trading. He needs to be curious, dynamic and willing to learn in a fast-paced environment. He also needs to have the following academic skills.

  • Good knowledge of time series analysis, statistics and popular Machine Learning algorithms
  • Knowledge of interest rates financial products (IR swaps, Bonds, Futures)
  • Knowledge of an object oriented language (C#, C++, java)
  • Knowledge of scripting language (Python, Shell, PowerShell, DOS)
  • Good knowledge of Excel
  • Good communication skills
  • Previous internship in finance is a plus
