Sr. Specialist, Network Management
The Global Network Management team manages BNY Mellon's network of subcustodian relationships across more than 100 markets, delivering market insights to clients, selecting and appointing new relationships, monitoring regulatory compliance of the existing network and advocating with market players for international best practices and market changes. Amongst its major duties, the Senior Network Manager:
Provides on-going support and evaluation of existing custody network, including the considerations of Legal/Compliance/Risk Management/Operations. Leads recommendations on the selection process and subsequent management of the appointed custodian/broker to ensure all areas are evaluated and appropriately approved. Manages and negotiates relationships within the network of custodians. Provides support on negotiations of service levels, contracts and commercial terms with custodians. Supports the on-going monitoring throughout the year of the custodians' operations, local market activity, financial strength, regulatory compliance and overall service performance. Co-ordinates annual due-diligence review to include, when appropriate, on-site visits. Gains a full understanding of the local market infrastructure, regulations and practices, monitoring major and complex regulatory changes and operational developments, to advise clients and internal stakeholders on the relevant impact. Acts as a resource to Global Network Management teams working to align corporate and functional business plans. Provides clients and internal risk management teams with subject matter expertise regarding security services. Acts as a high-level resource and escalation point/problem-solver on operational and more general network management/relationship issues and advocacy initiatives.Leads Network Management team resolving the most complex issues regarding the selection and management of custodian banks and subcustodian banks. Leads teams in market intelligence gathering, ensures best practices are followed during due diligence process, and coordinates with Global Network Management teams to promote the alignment of corporate and function business plans. Leads team members in resolving complex operational and technical issues regarding custodian banks. Ensures that proper policies, procedures, and best practices are followed during the due diligence, selection, and monitoring process. Develops and ensures adherence to best practices during the custodian and sub-custodian bank selection process. Ensures that all regulatory and compliance requirements are met and proper fail-safes are in place to identify issues that might arise. Oversees the process of reporting market intelligence to clients. Resolves the most complex or non-routine issues that arise from custodian banks and sub-custodian banks. Uses in-depth knowledge of regulatory and compliance requirements to ensure adequate controls are in place at custody banks and provides custody banks and sub-custody banks with guidance in order to prevent potential issues from arising. De-facto expert for the business regarding security services. Provides input to custody banks and sub-custody banks along with BNYM teams developing security products. Qualifications
Bachelors degree or the equivalent combination of education and experience is required. Advanced/graduate degree preferred. 7-12 years of total work experience preferred. Banking industry experience in risk, compliance, and client engagement preferred. Applicable local/regional licenses or certifications as required by the business.
