Senior Web Proxy Engineer (Sr. Specialist, Infrastructure Engineer)

TSG Engineering - Infrastructure is the foundation of our business, so an engineering discipline focuses on security, risk and compliance drastically reduces risk to the operational environment and ensures adherence to industry regulations.

The Role

We are seeking a Web Proxy Engineer.

With minimal supervision - you will participate and lead in the design, engineering, development, testing, implementation, operation and maintenance of network infrastructure devices such as network firewalls, web proxies, and DLP technologies.

You will maintain technical quality in operating environments through monitoring and implementation of solutions. You'll independently in a fast-paced environment on issues of the highest complexity.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design, implement, maintain, support and troubleshoot Firewall, Proxy, and DLP environment as per corporate and security standards.
  • Adhere to the controls, policies and procedures put forth in context to proactively manage IT risks, develop reduce impact to the production environment and improve stability and visibility through metric focused reports.
  • Obtains information relative to business requirements in order to design and prepare solution proposal alternatives in line with strategies and best practices.
  • Develops and reviews system and network performance results, systems standards, strategies, and workflows.
  • Produce the documentation of technical procedures for department use to ensure uniformity of process.
  • Collaborated with productions services team in the coordination of tasks associated with repairs or installations.
  • Diagnoses and provides solutions to problems being experienced inside the organization. Tier three escalation point for problem resolution.
  • Maintains technical quality in operating environments through the monitoring and development of advanced solutions.
  • Installs system hardware and software, ensures proper performance, and stabilizes systems.
  • Evaluates techniques, develops recommendations, and performs testing and certifications.
  • Prepares reports and follow-up and evaluates results.
  • Interfaces with vendors and servicing agents to obtain equipment and services.


Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related discipline, or equivalent work experience required; advanced degree preferred

8-10 years of related experience required; experience in the securities or financial services industry is a plus
  • Knowledge of TCP/IP fundamentals and network security technologies such as Clustering, Transparent mode, TLSV1.2,1.3, CLI commands (Bash, shell, IOS...)
  • Thorough understanding of installation, configuration, and optimization of technologies such McAfee and/or Blue Coat Proxies, Palo Alto Firewalls
  • Experience with HP Network Automation, Netbrain is a plus


Subject matter expert in at least one of the tools/technologies used in the space.

Participates in or leads initiatives to analyze infrastructure problems to be solved with advanced design. Utilizes standard procedures and policies when selecting methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria for obtaining results.

Manages the processes for ensuring that all systems/applications/software/hardware are compliant with Corporate policy/procedures.

Monitors project plans and budgets.

Contributes to developing and monitoring the organization's technology architecture and future technology vision. Develops reports in conjunction with the Fellow Architect which demonstrate business opportunities and road map strategies that add business value.

Drafts proposals on infrastructure architecture needs for M&A activity, and supports the creation of executive summaries.

This person is a subject matter expert in at least one of the tools/technologies used in the space.

Consults and advises application development groups on solution architecture design monitoring implementation; recommending solutions based on BNYM and industry best practices.

Acts as the lead for major incident resolution.

Drives strategy to increase automation across the organization.

Contributes to the achievement of team objectives
