Senior Valuation Specialist - Corporate Finance / Accounting New York - United States
We are seeking a Senior Valuation Specialist with excellent theoretical and practical understanding of asset back products and other asset classes products. The individual will be involved in several functions including:
  • Maintain and enhance current procedures and methodologies documentation
  • Manage the analysis of existing complex transactions and the launch of new products
  • Manage the communication to management and F/O of the monthly moves of the reserves and IPV and their analysis
  • Meets with internal or external auditors and regulators on selected activities
  • Provide expertise in asset backed products and one or several other asset classes among Fixed Income or Equity Derivatives, including exotic activities
  • Provide analysis on market evolution; investigate local valuation issues; give opinion on new products valuation methodology and setup.
  • Provide support to the Front Office on valuation methodologies and adjustments on all activities originated in America
  • Interact regularly with Paris VAL team; share knowledge with other finance teams; build trust and partnership with trading desks.
  • Interact with internal and external auditors, and regulators on selected activities

    Profile Required

    Technical Skills
  • Excellent knowledge of the financial markets, the main actors and the different types of products and asset classes
  • Understanding of financial instruments valuation and especially Asset Backed Products
  • Understanding of accounting principles relating to valuing financial instruments
  • Be cognizant of the regulatory environment
  • High proficiency with Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Word, Power Point)
  • Proficiency with VBA, SQL or Python
  • Competencies
  • Excellent quantitative and analytical skills
  • Able to organize his/her work efficiently and to work self-sufficiently
  • Able to communicate effectively across the organization including with the top management

  • Prior Work Experience
  • 7+ years of prior experience in a Product Control Group or Market Risk environment
  • Education
  • Advanced degree, a high GPA with a major in Accounting, Finance, Mathematics or another relevant business major
  • Coursework in accounting, financial engineering and/or valuation of financial instruments
  • Language
  • English
  • French a plus
