My client is a world-leading fully automated electronic market-making firm, and are looking to be the big player within the high-frequency trading space in the coming next years. They have a global operation, but this hire is in their new New York office, and would sit within one of the most technologically exciting and innovative teams within their business.
They are looking to hire a mid-level/senior engineer to sit with their IT Infrastructure group, who are responsible for maintaining and developing the existing operating systems and network. The group faces off to the Quantitative Researchers directly, and unlike many other roles in this space, the work this team does directly generates revenue for the company, rather than simply supporting those who do.
They are also going to be responsible for the buildout of the firm’s colocation network – this is a priority for the firm, and they want to bring in someone with significant networking experience who can work with complete autonomy; for the right person, this is an exceptional opportunity to be at the heart of a growth area for the business.
- Strong academic background in a quantitative discipline (Computer Science and Electrical Engineering preferred)
- Excellent programming knowledge in (C/C++/Python)
- Deep understanding of operating systems and networks (i.e. DNS, TCP/IP)
- 5+ years commercial experience, with a preference for people with a background/interest in financial markets
You might be pleased to hear that they are also prepared to pay exceptionally well to get the best people on board. I can talk you through this more if you’re interested to hear more but they can put together extremely compelling compensation packages to get the right people.
