The key responsibility of Morgan Stanley's SEC Reporting Group (SRG) is the production of consolidated financial reports on Forms 10-K and 10-Q (10K/Q) which are submitted to the SEC on a quarterly basis. As a senior manager, this role will have a combination of document preparation and team leadership responsibilities.

Responsibilities of the SRG Senior Manager position include:
· Drafting various portions of the 10Q/K including: the Institutional Securities, Wealth Management or Investment Management segment results sections; the Liquidity and Capital Resources and Risk Management sections; and the Financial Statement footnotes, among others.
· Directing, reviewing and approving the work of more junior members of the team.
· Analyzing financial trends and leading the process to translate data into robust qualitative commentary in SEC filings.
· Project managing assigned sections of filings across a large and diverse set of stakeholders to ensure timely completion and review.
· Maintaining a strong internal control environment, including ensuring that disclosures meet GAAP requirements and that new accounting and reporting standards are incorporated into filings accurately and compliantly.
· Participating in and driving various SRG priorities, including playing a vocal role in continuously improving the effectiveness and efficiency of our processes.

Qualifications:

Experience:
· Background in Accounting and/or the Financial Services industry, including knowledge of U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles as they relate to disclosures and SEC reporting rules.
· Strong analytical, communication, teamwork and organizational skills.
· Experience in an SEC reporting role or a public accounting background is a plus.
· Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word. Knowledge of various SEC Reporting software and extensible business reporting language (XBRL) are a plus but not required.
