Responsibilities:
• Coordination and oversight of trust accounting.
• Accountings or Receipts & Releases will need to be prepared for each terminating trust.
• Coordinate with the law firm/accounting shop preparing the accountings.
• Oversee all accounting-related activity from inception through trust termination including the delivery of statements and trust documents to counsel, reviewing final work product, organizing the signing of the accounting, making final distributions of trust assets, and closing the trusts.
• Play a role in the maintenance of the books and records of each Trust portfolio including the review of trust distributions and allocation between income and principal.
• Serve as an interface with the representatives of financial institutions coordinating various individual and fiduciary activities.
• Work with trust officers and other professionals on all aspects of estate administration.
• Maintains professional and technical knowledge and industry trends by attending educational workshops and reviewing professional publications as appropriate.
• Work with in-house accounting colleagues and external tax preparers in reviewing 1041s annually.
Requirements:
