Senior Credit Officer - Corporates - Risks New York - United States
The senior credit officer position requires the candidate to approve and subsequently monitor the credit risk on a portfolio of over 80 large General Corporates acting in different sectors in the US and abroad.

For the portfolio of clients under the Senior Credit Officer's responsibility, day to day responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
  • Credit assessment of the credit requests presented by the business units
  • Review/analysis of the credit requests
  • Document recommendation for final decision of loans, ratings and LGDs.
  • Ongoing monitoring of the credit quality of the portfolio (portfolio review/watch, early detection of deteriorating credits and Watch List)
  • With individual credits, through the annual review process and validation of risk ratings
  • On a portfolio basis, by monitoring the quality of the portfolios as a whole
  • Participation in the quarterly watch list review process
  • Completion of various reporting requirements for RISQ management
  • Contribution to Bank's credit policy guidelines
  • Participate in the enforcement of SG's Leverage Lending Policy and monitoring of Leveraged Loans
  • Assessment of SGCIB new business initiatives (white papers, New Product Committees, business strategy etc)

  • Strong credit background
  • Analytical background
  • Strong writing skills
  • Good negotiating skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and to meet tight deadlines. Effective management of priorities
  • Understanding of credit term sheets, deal structures and ISDA/CSA documentation.
  • Structured / secured deals (desired)
  • 15+ years working in a Credit Risk or similar role
  • Prior credit approval delegation experience
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent
  • Desired:

    Master's Degree or equivalent
