The Impact:
This is a hands-on cloud engineering role and part of the Ratings Technology Cloud Architecture organization. Cloud Architecture team leads strategic initiatives, builds future state architectures, defines standards, fosters knowledge sharing and collaboration in achieving our vision. The team has broad expertise in Ratings organization's critical platforms, applications, data, and cloud domains. We are looking for an experienced Cloud Engineer/Architect to work with the engineering leaders and scrum teams to develop, implement, and maintain cloud-based solutions. You will be responsible for developing, deploying and debugging cloud stacks, educating teams on new cloud initiatives, and ensuring the security of the cloud infrastructure. You are expected to have excellent troubleshooting skills, stay current with industry trends, and should be a great collaborator. You will be part of a world class team of subject matter experts with diverse skillsets. Together you will shape technology strategies, design architectures, build platforms, driving principles and standards that will achieve our future state vision.

Responsibilities:
  • Translate project-specific needs into a cloud solution that will suit those needs and considering the project needs in terms of automation, performance, security, and cost.
  • Design the cloud environment from a holistic point of view, ensuring it meets all the company's requirements, goals, standards, and design principals.
  • Automate deployment, maintenance, monitoring, and management tasks within implemented cloud solutions.
  • Train and guide SRE teams to support cloud solutions.
  • Create self-service and automated environments to reduce administration overhead and onboarding processes.
  • Respond timely to incidents around the cloud platform. Identify and isolate root cause quickly.
  • Collaborate with product owner, software solution architect and application developers to provision Dev/QA/Staging/Prod cloud environments which matches business, functional and performance specifications.
  • Conduct and assist in regular capacity planning, cost analysis, and security reviews.
  • Orchestrate and automate cloud-based platforms based on standards.
  • Provide support for Production, DR, and lower environments making sure platform is stable and highly available.
  • Follow security management specification and workflows. Operate and automate security management.
  • Work closely with teammates in day-to-day agile development and maintenance activities.
  • Identify and initiate changes to improve cloud operation efficiency.
Requirement:
  • Master's or Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent job experience.
  • 5+ years cloud or infrastructure related work experience.
  • AWS Professional certification is strongly desired with hands-on working experience in AWS, expertise with Azure and Alibaba is a plus.
  • Solid Linux and networking skills.
  • Solid knowledge and experience of software development, build, deployment, and operation.
  • Skills and experience to translate application requirement into infrastructure architecture.
  • Demonstrated experience writing Infrastructure-as-Code using some of following tools: Terraform, Ansible, Packer, and CI/CD tools like Jenkins, ADO, GitHubs, etc.
  • Demonstrated experience in technologies such as KNative, Istio, Containers, and Kubernetes.
  • Solid knowledge about Linux system operation, knowledge about Windows system operation is a plus.
  • Experience of managing and supporting HA/DR system in cloud environment.
  • Functional understanding of the DevOps model and agile project management.
  • Excellent troubleshooting and analytics skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication in English.
  • Passionate about work and eager to learn new skills.
Any of following experience is a plus:
  • Knowledge/Experience in database (MySQL/PostgreSQL/SQL Server/MongoDB).
  • Working experience in international company.
S&P Global states that the anticipated base salary range for this position is $83,200 to $190,100 . Base salary ranges may vary by geographic location.
In addition to base compensation, this role is eligible for an annual incentive plan.
