Location: New York, NY or Princeton, NJ

The Role : The Lead Business Systems Analyst provides technical analysis services to Agile teams, business users and team architects. The focus of this position will be the development of technical requirements and associated business processes/workflows in support of initiatives and projects. The position will also work extensively with internal and external development resources in knowledge transfer of requirements and insuring understanding of how those requirements are reflected in applications/systems requirements. This position will interact and support both technology team and business users and in close partnership with project stakeholders. They will also be a Leader for one or more Agile Scrum teams.

Compensation and Benefits Information:
S&P Global states that the anticipated base salary range for this position is $67,600 - $190,100. Base salary ranges may vary by geographic location.

In addition to base compensation, this role is eligible for an annual incentive bonus.

Responsibilities:
  • Gather/analyze/document technical requirements leading to the development of a business solution or technical capability. These are documented in user stories consumed by Agile scrum teams.
  • Review and analyze complex business data and information for utilization by the teams.
  • Solve a range of routine to complex problems and determine possible solutions, weighing costs and benefits.
  • Support the successful delivery of large impact and highly cross-functional product initiatives while simultaneously supporting continuous improvement initiatives
  • Applies systems thinking
  • Collaborating with Business Analysts, Project Leads and IT team to resolve issues and ensuring solutions are viable and consistent
  • Support the development of internal workflow design through systems, new and revised procedures and product designs, including the user interface aspect and the development of rules-based analysis for new or existing products.
  • Plan work and guide other BA's and BSA's to meet project deadlines.
  • Mediate between developer, Quality Assurance and product owners. Collect requirements from PO, get developed by the developer, get tested with the help of QA and developers and ensure the rollout to production.
  • Work with the Business to ensure we are delivering the best products for our customers.
What we look for:
  • 5+ years of tech lead/Sr Programmer Analyst experience.
  • Strong ability to communicate the value of iterative development
  • Strong knowledge of Agile and Scrum theory, practices, and rules, with the attitude of a student
  • The ability to analyze large amounts of data quickly and efficiently is necessary.
  • Works independently with little to no supervision
  • Working knowledge of the following tools and techniques:
    • SQL;
      • Familiarity with data modeling;
      • Data visualization tools such as Tableau or PowerBI;
      • Visio or other graphing package for flow charts and diagrams;
      • database organization.
    • Strong problem-solving capacity
  • Understand fundamentals of software development processes and procedures in an agile development environment
Qualifications:
  • 8 + years of relevant experience
  • Bachelor's in Computer Science, related field or equivalent work experience
  • Technical Functional and Non-Functional Specifications
  • API Contract and Performance Specifications
  • Data flow diagrams
  • Requirements Management / Planning (Prioritization, Change Control)
  • Agile knowledge and practice
  • Knowledge and hands-on experience in SQL and data management
  • Standard requirements gathering and analysis
