The Senior Associate will be responsible for participating in the coordination of training efforts for the Underwriting Department, working closely with Medical, Quality Control, Senior Management and Communications to assist in the development and delivery of training materials. Training will be comprised of several different types of programs, from new hire training, to continuing education for the experienced underwriter. The Senior Associate will also assist with aspects of maintaining and updating the Underwiting Manual.

Main Duties:

  • Assist in the development of training materials, according to the approved format
  • Conduct training sessions, both for underwriters and for other trainers within the production underwriting staff
  • Participate in discussions concerning the best format for the design and delivery of training modules
  • Assist in the development of tools to measure the effectiveness of training, and develop reports around those measurements
  • Conduct research to support content updates to the manual

Qualifications:
  • 5+ years of experience and familiarity with multiple training delivery systems, including eLearning platforms such as Captivate, Walk Me, etc.
  • Familiarity with change management and adult learning concepts preferred
  • Familiarity with Life Insurance industry, and Underwriting in particular, a plus
  • Ability to anticipate evolving training needs (e.g. new medical tests, legislative/regulatory changes in the industry, new sales schemes)
  • Must have a collaborative approach to project work and demonstrate the ability to identify and analyze trends
  • Willingness to consider and explore new methods of training, such as eLearning and other self-directed methods
  • Must have excellent presentation skills and written communication must be clear, concise and professional
