Role Description
GM/IHC Chief Data Office is looking to hire a Project Manager for end-to-end project managing Product/Instrument Reference Data focused deliverables within Reference Data Workstream. Project delivery will be focused on changes to existing business processes, controls & governance enhancements, data and infrastructure enhancements in support of overall IHC Data Strategy.

Job Responsibilities :

  • Support Ref Data Workstream Lead to develop and maintain detailed, front-to-back delivery plan
  • Support Ref Data Workstream Lead to manage Working Group financials, perform review & challenge on resource allocations, and submit budget requests
  • Liaise with other Data Strategy workstreams (Market Risk, Credit Risk & RWA Credit Risk, US Regulatory Reporting etc.) and reference data teams to determine scope and prioritization
  • Develop business case to support change highlighting key metrics e.g., ROI
  • Ensure creation of large scale change program artifacts such as business requirements, test strategy documents, and control frameworks
  • Produce project status and RAID log to drive progress against deliverables
  • Escalate issues and risks to working group stakeholders as appropriate
  • Develop metrics to track delivery against program objectives including key performance indicators (KPIs)
  • Partner with other Change functions, Risk & Finance Functional Areas, IT, and other support functions to drive delivery
  • Ensure all design solutions meet business objectives and comply with appropriate regulatory and Internal Audit requirements

Key Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of different Types of Reference Data elements used within Investment banking Capital Markets (Client, Legal Agreements, Counterparty Risk Data, Product/Instrument Data)
  • Overall understanding of Data Management, Data Governance and Business and Technical Data Architecture
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, problem solving skills, attention to detail and interpersonal skills
  • Proven ability to provide direction and drive progress across groups, particularly to drive consensus of direction from different groups with differing priorities. Identifying and removing roadblocks to progress
  • Proven ability to work independently and manage one's time
  • A demonstrated track record of successfully delivering Change projects as Project Manager at an investment bank or similar institution
  • Experience with agile processes, managing plans, UAT, requirements etc.
  • Experience implementing Reference Data requirements at an investment bank is preferred
  • Comfortable working in a dynamic environment under tight regulatory timeframes
  • Computer software proficiency, including: MS Word, MS PowerPoint, MS Project, Visio


  • Bachelor's degree in business administration or a related field
  • 7-10 years' project management experience required
  • PMI or PMP certification preferred
