Real Estate Banking:
Real Estate Banking (REB) deliverscommercial real estate and banking products to top-tier clients active in majormarkets across the U.S. Primary property types include multifamily, retail,office and industrial properties. REB clients are top-tier national andregional real estate developers, investors, Real Estate Operating Companies(REOCs) and opportunity and investment funds.

REB has broad national capabilities and expertise in real estate credit,including:
  • Commercial and multifamily construction
  • Acquisitions
  • Structured revolving facilities
  • Term mortgage lending
  • Subscription facilities

The business also often assemblesand manages large multi-bank syndications to finance institutional quality realestate investments for clients at both the asset and entity level.
National Fund Managerand Subscription Lending Platform:
Thisplatform is focused on developing JPM's subscription lending business andfull-scale banking relationships with real estate fund manager clients, througha consultative approach to the fund management industry. We cover these clientson a national basis for both REB and CCBSI-RE. Our clients are top-tierreal estate asset management firms who are forming both open and closed-endfunds to invest in real estate assets. They are raising equity for theseinvestments from institutional investors, such as public or corporate pensionplans, endowments and foundations. Our subscription lines then advanceagainst these equity commitments. This is the first key piece of debtcapital for these funds, which establishes a foothold to develop a full-scalebanking relationship for JPM, including treasury services, asset financings,and entity- level lines of credit. In this platform, we act as subject matterexperts in the fund management industry, using our knowledge to assist ClientExecutives across the nation to prospect for top- tier fund sponsors that arein need of a subscription line and banking partnership.

Theposition will be responsible for overseeingand driving the new subscription line origination process for commercial realestate clients in the Northeast Region of Real Estate Banking. Thecandidate must have a strong working knowledge of the commercial real estate industry,subscription lending, banking rules and regulations, and have had priorexperience of transacting and administering real estate loans. Candidatesmust be experienced, independent, and qualified credit professionals with theability to manage a number of dynamic credit situations, as well as act as aleader to efficiently utilize team resources and provide accurate, timelyresults.

Responsibilities include:
  • Overseeing the key credit initiatives, on a national basis, for the subscription lending credit platform, as well as c alling on subscription lending clients to grow the market share in the Northeast markets (NYC, Boston, Washington DC)
  • Assisting with training and development of junior staff members and in some cases managing staff where applicable
  • Assistingwith identifying and executing on key business opportunities to enhance JPMrelationships with fund sponsors
  • Evaluating new loan opportunities; identifying strengths and weaknesses of proposed transactions
  • Structuring complex loans and coordinating the credit approval process in conjunction with Underwriters, Client Executives, and Credit Executives
  • Preparing and negotiating term sheets, negotiating loan documentation
  • Coordinating the real estate closing process, including reviewing the due diligence
  • Presenting to senior management proposed loan transactions; confidently exercise authority while clearly articulating the reasoning behind recommended credit decisions
  • Contributing to the development and execution of client strategies in collaboration with Client Executives
  • Researchingand analyzing institutional investors
  • Reviewing Underwriting, Investment Committee Memorandums, Credit Approval Packages, and Risk Rating recommendations
  • Overseeing compliance with established underwriting standards and guidelines, credit approval requirements, and other policies and procedures associated with new loan originations
  • Coordinatingefforts with deal team members to ensure best-in-class execution for ourclients
  • 7 years of commercial banking/lending experience, including extensive credit, structuring, closing, and loan documentation experience
  • Experience in Commercial Real Estate Credit is required
  • Excellent communication skills, including the ability to clearly express and support opinions in a confident and diplomatic manner, listen thoughtfully to the input and critiques of managers and team members, and effectively articulate positions to senior management
  • Superior interpersonal skills to interact with clients, counsel, products partners, and senior management
  • Significant accounting and finance knowledge, as well as strong knowledge of real estate fundamentals and concepts.
  • Strong analytical and business writing skills
  • Knowledge of JPMC or similar bank policies and procedures preferred
  • Completion of a major corporate banking credit training program
  • Proficient with Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft Power Point
  • BS/BA degree (Business, Finance & Accounting preferred; all majors considered)
