Description of the Position:
The FinTech Investments team makes strategic investments on behalf of Citi Markets & Securities Services. Our investment focus is on early stage/start-up companies, data & analytics, execution venues, post-trade processing, collaboration & communications and high-performance computing companies. We are a global team with members in London, New York and Singapore.

The candidate will be a core member of the team. Based in New York, this person will be responsible for the following:

- Support team in performing due diligence on prospective investments and deal negotiations, e.g.
o Analyze business models and financial statements
o Benefits/ advantages to Citi Markets businesses
o Competitive landscape
- Assist with internal approval process for new investments, e.g.
o Documenting business and financial rationale for investment
o Identifying risks and mitigating factors
- Perform quarterly, or episodic event-based, fair value analysis, including creating DCF analysis, comparable and event anchored valuations for the portfolio
o Work with team, Risk and Valuation Control Group for quarter-end valuations, review and bookings to general ledger
- Support team with episodic portfolio company corporate actions, including full and partial sales, and acquisitions
- Assist team with regular reporting and communication with control groups and senior management.


• Bachelor's Degree required, MBA preferred, finance and/or technology background strongly recommended.
• Three to five years of experience in financial statement analysis
• Three years of experience in valuing early and growth stage companies

• Ability to work and communicate effectively with team members, senior management and across various functional areas within Citi
• Strong analytical and presentation skills, highly detail oriented and organized
• Self-motivated, intellectually curious, inquisitive and open minded
• Ability and desire to understand how technology and innovation will impact Citi Markets businesses
• Ability to prioritize assignments and work in a fast-paced environment
