We are looking for a highly motivated and dynamic individual to lead our newly created production support team consisting of developers, DBA’s and support personnel. The production support manager will lead a team of approximately 10 individuals whose function is to provide application support for the in-house trading systems used by our investment team.
Ensure trading systems are performing as intended
Respond to trouble tickets raised by investment team or middle office personnel.
Act as release manager for all software deployments
Institute a proper change management process requiring test plans, back out scripts, user acceptance testing and post deployment testing.
Coordinate with dev team on the release of new software in the environment.
Develop relationships with business community and market data providers
Prioritize issues raised and resolve them accordingly.
Coordinate escalation and resolution of major service issues.
Report promptly to management and business partners regarding critical outages until resolution.
Manage off-shore, outsourced vendor to an SLA and execution of critical situations.
Allocate resources to resolve problems/incidents.
Provide regular status reports to management on application status and other metrics.
Strong data analysis skills
Able to use logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems
Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work with various stakeholders across various teams
Highly adaptable to a dynamic environment with a strong end-to-end ownership mentality of managing an issue from identification to resolution
Must be flexible with work hours and/or expected to respond to and troubleshoot issues outside or core work hours
Ability to work under pressure and deal with stressful situations
Bachelor’s degree in a finance related discipline
10+ years experience managing a global production support function
Strong organizational, project management and problem-solving skills
Technical skill set required, preferably with expertise in software development, QA, cloud and exposure to trading systems
Knowledge of Linux, SQL Server and change management processes
Experience with Azure DevOps, JIRA, AWS and Azure important
