The Role: S&P Global is seeking a Product Manager to support our Excel Add-in and Screening solutions for the S&P Global platform. The preferred candidate should have:
  • Strong product thinking skills and user experience sensibilities;
  • An understanding of the use of financial data;
  • Highly analytical, with demonstrated proficiency in MS Excel

The Career Opportunity: The position plays a key role on the S&P Global Platform Product Management team and for the organization as a whole. The Product Manager role offers exposure to all S&P Global divisions and clients, and opens doors for tremendous career opportunities with S&P Global. In the role, the candidate will be responsible for developing and delivering the Office & Screening capabilities within the S&P Global Platform. The candidate will also be responsible for interfacing with internal and external stakeholders to ensure what we build drives real client value and to ensure that all areas of the business are aware of and are leverage enhancements to the platform.

The ideal candidate will have previous experience with either using/designing Excel Add-ins for financial data, or using/designing complex screening tools. Key Roles and Responsibilities:
The Product Management team works in close collaboration with internal divisions and teams -Sales, Marketing, Account Management and Client Services, Content, and Technology-as well as with our clients to create and deliver the road-map for the Excel Add-in and Screening capabilities. As Product Manager, the candidate is uniquely positioned to be the main point of contact and source of information for client requests. The job is to create the best possible Excel and Screenings tools for our clients, key activities include:
  • Envisioning new products, validating ideas with internal and external stakeholders and creating user stories and wire-frames;
  • Overseeing test plan creation & execution, including participation in product testing;
  • Interacting with client support; product managers and end users as the subject matter expert for your capabilities;
  • Defining and executing on the road-map from concept through launch for your areas;
  • Acting as Product Owner on one or more agile scrum teams;
  • Owning small-mid size projects including project definition and management;
  • Become the subject matter expert on Excel/Screening, staying up to date on the latest updates in Excel Add-ins and/or Screening capabilities.

Experience Required:
  • BA/BS in finance, business, or related fields
  • 2+ years of work experience preferred
  • Product management experience working with Agile/Scrum is preferred
  • Strong knowledge of global financial markets
  • High level of expertise in MS Excel and financial modeling
  • Ability to understand technical product challenges and contribute to defining and communicating solutions
  • A professional, highly dedicated, detail-oriented, and energetic personality, with the ability to work and thrive in a team environment
  • Strong problem solving skills and excellent verbal and written communication skills
